First of all, I served the dinner here, I've met nice people, very gently who offered us a very tasty and fresh food, home made! :) Prices are more than affordable (seriously, for any pocket :)..), beer was cold, the garden was amazing, nice ambiance! I recommend them for everyone to try a Lunch or a nice dinner! :)

A chance stop as it was on the route of a long road trip. A welcoming local place, wholesome pub food which was good value, Ok but basic drinks options, marginal wine options. Clean and a cosy old English inn with a roaring fire set in rolling hills. I'd stop again if passing.

Great pub , met the wife here as she stopped off for a drink and something to eat as she was out horse riding with a friend , the staff were very welcoming and came outside with their food and drinks, will definitely be stopping off here again 👍

Always give a place a second chance. I hadn't been there for several years. Previous experience of beer soaked carpets with your shoes sticking as you walked has been transformed. It was clean and tidy with a nice fire and the toilets were spotless. The menus was file. There were six of us 2 went for the salmon and dill, one the pie which was large and had good quality content two for the fish, one was a small portion the other regular. The regular was huge. I opted for a special - liver and bacon with all the trimmings. Only 3 could manage deserts. I had the bread and butter pudding with icecream. Excellent. A few minor problems with the card machine when paying but the bill including 3 rounds of drinks and coffees for some came to £24 a head including a tip. I live locally and it is confusing as to opening hours and a simple A board outside would help as well as tidying up the car park. This would bring them more custom. The staff were welcoming and the...

Have visited several times and have never been disappointed. I would recommend making the effort to divert off the A roads and sample the scrummy fare at this lovely older worlde pub! There is ample free parking and a beer garden. The staff are fast, efficient and charming. The food is wholesome and unpretentious (a welcome change) and the homemade desserts are heavenly!! If visiting on a Sunday I would recommend booking as they were very busy when I visited for a surprise birthday treat! - not that it phased the very efficient staff as food was delivered...

Such a brilliant pub! If you want good service and a lovely atmosphere then go here. We sat in the flower and herb filled garden on a glorious day! Don't be put off by the roadside location, you can't hear many cars when in the walled garden.

Food was brilliant - they had homecooked roasts, but they even made us a sandwich (off menu) with some freshly baked bread they had in as we didn't fancy the roast but they wanted to feed us.

Such lovely above and beyond hospitality and a...
