Whilst the food, the waitresses and the atmosphere- a live singer - were excellent I was very disappointed at the way we were treated towards the end of our meal.

The starters came out very quickly, before we'd even got our drinks, but that was okay and they were delicious.

Not long after we had finished our starters, our main courses arrived and although we had no time to digest the starters, again, the main courses were delicious.

However, we had only been at our table 45 minutes when it was becoming clear to us that our table was needed for other guests.

As soon as we had finished, our plates and glasses were whisked away and we were asked 3 times if we wanted anything else.

We were thinking about coffee, but we felt so uncomfortable that we just asked for the bill. As soon as we got it, the waitress asked if we needed a card reader. When we said yes, she asked if we minded vacating the table and to wait at the other side of the room so they could re-set our table. We had been there exactly 60 minutes.

The excuse we were given was that people had arrived early and they needed our table, despite there being a few 2 seater tables around us. I really felt that this was not our problem and we shouldn't have been hurried out of our table the way we were, although I was too polite to say this ...

It was my daughter's birthday, I hadn't seen her for a while and this was my treat to her so we could have a nice meal in lovely surroundings and a catch up.

As we were literally there for 60 minutes, this did not happen and we were left feeling very deflated after looking forward to this...

Whinstone was the first venue we went to view and as soon as we met with the team and walked into the barn, we knew that it was the venue for us. It gave the warmest, cosiest feeling, yet still so romantic. After over 2 years of waiting our day finally arrived…as did Storm Babet! However, I would not have changed the weather and The Wray Barn meant everyone was together for the entire day. From the 2 years of planning to us arriving the day before our wedding, the whole team went above and beyond in making our day truly the best day of our lives. Nothing was ever too much trouble. The food was incredible, the bar staff did not stop smiling and dancing and the staff in the Bistro the evening before and for breakfast the day after could not have done a better job, especially in getting our preorder spot on. Our wedding guests still talk about their gigantic trio of desserts and the delicious supper bowls! Mandy was a superstar in arranging the beautiful lodges for our wedding party and our guests and we are already planning a return stay for our anniversary! And finally, to Lucy and Jessie…you girls are simply the best. We will never be able to thank you enough for giving us thee most perfect wedding day. It really is no surprise you have been crowned Teesside’s best wedding venue! Our wedding may have been and gone but this is just the start of our visits to such a wonderful place. With all our love, Bethany, and...

What an amazing time. Right from the beginning the staff where so helpful and couldn't do enough for us. We where greeted by the lovely mandy who was so polite and happy and immediately made us feel at ease. We then went to the spa where my husband and I where getting a full body massage which he didn't know about 😂 it was a surprise and he felt a little uneasy about it (he reckons it's a girl thing). But the girls in the spa where great and he loved it even though I knew he would. After that we went back to the reception where we had lunch and waited for our lodge. The food was great and the staff where so relaxed and always had a smile on there faces. Then mandy came and took us to our lodge and showed us around and told us how to use the hot tub with a smile on her face the whole time.

The bazar lodge was gorgeous 😍 it felt like we where miles away from home but we where just up the road. The bed was so comfortable and the room was so cozy with great facilities I was so pleased there was an iron in the room as our clothes got a little creased. We then went to the murder mystery night wich was really funny and we met some lovely people who where sat at our table. We had a 2 course meal wich was lovely and again the staff where fab. And the breakfast the next morning was beautiful. We had an amazing time and will definitely go back. Hopefully soon. Thank you for a lovely...

The positives - I had the veggie pizza which was delicious, cooked perfectly with goats cheese and caramelised onion. My strawberry mojito was gorgeous, beautifully made and very instagramable. The waitresses were friendly, very smiley and polite. The location beautiful, with lively gardens to walk around. The negatives - The service was really slow to the point that I had to shout the waitress over twice. The atmosphere wasn't the best, there was a couple of parties in, a wedding party and another one, which may have been a baby shower? These were coming to an end, and everyone looked like they had too much of a good time, and we're draped over every spare chair outside. There was a couple sat behind us who were laughing at people coming in to the resturant, their behaviour was appalling. They were a bit drunk and loud, which spoiled the meal a little bit. I know therestaurant can'tt do anything about this, but they sat us next to them when there were tonnes of spare tables inside, which wasn't great. The reason we came to this restaurant was because I got a voucher from work for £75. I was really excited about coming that I brought my mum with me. To be honest, I felt a bit let down by the experience. Great food only goes so far, it has to be the complete package.

First visit here today, we fancied somewhere different for breakfast and some friends had suggested Whinstone View a while back. Waze tried to take us somewhere else, but we seen a signpost for it. The place is quite big, and not obvious of where to actually go, but we found our way and parked up. Again, it’s not entirely obvious of where to go, we followed our instincts, and we found the right place. We were greeted and told to sit anywhere we wanted, once we picked a table, we were told that one was reserved. Typical us, but it wasn’t obvious. We sat down and a lady came over to see what drinks we wanted, there was a dairy free option, so we picked our drinks, and had a look at the menu. We decided on a full English and an eggs benedict. The drinks came and we didn’t have to wait long for the food. The food was all well cooked , very hot and the right amount (though I do prefer 2 sausages). The menu does say no swaps, but I don’t like Black pudding. The food was really decent quality, the Oat latte was great too. The staff cleared the plates and were very friendly and polite, asking if everything was ok on a couple of occasions. We paid the bill, there was no pressure to tip, and we will certainly be coming back.
