The White Hart is again under new management so thought me and my partner would try it out. Upon our arrival there was only 2 other people eating, which should have been a pretty good indication. We was not welcomed with a simple greeting such as "Hello" and just stared at by a young female which I presume was the manageress. We ordered our drinks and given menus, not told about the specials bored. we eventually ordered our food, Sausage on a bed of mashed potato and the lamb, ordered to be cooked medium to rare. After more than 45 minutes waiting, our food was bought out to us. Quite clear that the potato was microwaved, it was flavourless along with the rest of my meal. My partner's lamb was cooked well-well done and seemed cold. If the pub had been busy we may have asked for the meals to be replaced and expected an explanation but due to the fact at this point we were the only customers there, we didn't stick around for the silly excuse that no doubt would have come. We paid quickly, wasn't asked how our food was and nor a goodbye. Will never go back, such awful, over-priced food, terrible customer service and lack of professionalism. No doubt The White Hart will be under new management in the new year. DO...
Read moreWe were staying in the area for a week.Found the White Hart and booked for that evening, we was served by Penny who immediately made you feel at home. The sharing Camembert was amazing and were very accommodating with the rest of the food ( veggies and fussy eaters). We returned two days later and again had fantastic service, this time by Josh. The sharing nachos was huge, my salmon from the specials menu was lovely and plentiful and my husbands burger was delicious, meaty with no horrible bits. The chef, Mike, definitely is a feeder and does not want anyone to go home wanting more but more importantly knows how to cook beautifully and uses good quality ingredients. This place was just like our local at home, welcoming and friendly. Well done you guys. Will hopefully be back before we leave. Beers are...
Read moreFabulous meal on Friday night at the White Hart. Very generous portion size, and served lovely & hot despite sitting outside. We were in the ‘Jamaica’ pod, one of several themed mini gazebos in the garden, which was lovely & warm due to the overhead heater, and all the twinkly lights and background music added to the almost magical experience . We were so well looked after by a very friendly lady named Penny, from greeting us on arrival, taking our order and periodically checking if everything was ok for us throughout the meal. Equally attentive and helpful was the other young lady serving us (sorry didn’t get her name) - overall a great dining experience and highly recommended. Oh, must just say, the pan-fried chicken was de-lic-ious, the sauce to die for!! We will definitely be...
