If you have children particularly young children I would definetly avoid this pub and not give it a second thought, if you are looking for a family friendly place for lunch, dinner or drinks this is definitely not the place for you.

My experience having gone for lunch with my 3 year old an partner was horrible I left feeling very unwelcome and quite upset.

My 3 year old daughter was told that she is being 2 loud and that she would have to leave by a member of staff. The staff member did not approach myself or my partner and ask us to leave or ask to be quite instead approached her and told her off for being loud. I was sitting close by watching her she had wondered round to the table next to us (at this point the place was empty why she couldn't wonder round empty tables I'm unsure of)

I was quite upset by what had just happened and instantly felt we was not wanted there so I hurried her out of the place as quick as I could while my partner was still in the toilets.

On our drive home I explained what had happened to my partner and he sent a polite message to the owner stating we had a lovely lunch and how nice the food was and then explained how we treated at the end after we had paid.

The owners response was was quite sarcastic and shocking. She agreed with what had happened and how we were treated and even said she would not have put up with it for as long as the staff did.

What she was referring to as put up with it is noise from a 3 year old and her wondering around an empty pub.

To sum this review up the food is nice but the atmosphere and staff are not nice and this pub is definitely not child friendly/family friendly.

The quote the mangers own words, it is what it is and I'm just...

Arrived for an overnight stay as we were attending a significant birthday party at the neighbouring village hall.||||Greeted by name, and shown to our room, a well-appointed and extremely comfortable ensuite room, and briefed on practical details, TV, thermostat, breakfast times etc. On mentioning that we were not dining but attending an event, unprompted we were offered a lift from one of the staff to the (local) venue.||||If we had properly read the comprehensive information folder, we would have found the details re taxis on having a pre-event drink we enquired about taxi services (for the return trip) we were again offered a lift to the venue and indeed a pickup should we so desire.||||We took up the offer of the lift to the venue, and had a great evening, returning before closing we were welcomed back and were chided for not calling for a pickup (the walk back of just over half a mile was just enough to clear the head) a night cap was taken, and we retired to bed. ||||After a most comfortable night's sleep the bathroom facilities were put to good use, copious hot water, a shower with a great flowrate, towels of high quality and once cleansed and dressed off to breakfast.||||An excellent breakfast, high quality ingredients and freshly cooked and again great service.||||Our only regret, not dining, a regret that a return visit sometime soon will put right.||||Overall, a pub/restaurant with a most welcoming ambience, friendly and attentive staff, and exceptional quality throughout. On top of which the Real Ales were excellent and to be...

I stayed here while working away on business. from the second i walked in i felt at home. the mood is relaxed and warm which brought on an instant sense of feeling welcome. ||The staff are AMAZING!!!! I genuinely believed they were all part owners as they all have a true sense of care toward guests and the service in which they provide. ||The rooms are super clean and modern. They were cleaned daily to the highest of standards. A personalised welcome letter on arrival letter emphasised the home from home feel. ||The food was AMAZING!!!||Huge shout to the morning staff. Best breakfast I have had in a long time.||In a nut shell…. I will definitely be returning and would strongly recommend to anyone who requires accommodation in the area to not look any further. ||The only down side is there are only 5 rooms so be quick to book or miss out. ||To the owners šŸ‘ you really have smashed it, and as a business owner myself you are very lucky to have such dedicated staff. ||WELL DONE ALL. and see...

I was on my way to Wetherspoons in Corby before the drive to Aberdeen. Diversion took me through the back roads. And am I happy for that. I was served by a lovely young blonde lady who was so hospitable it was a refreshing change from the usual. Took my order and gave me a password for WiFi. Breakfast arrived about 20 minutes later. Absolutely delicious. Took a look at the main menu. Marvellous selection is available. Not your burger and chips type food. Although I'm sure that you can get one if you want to. Open early for non residents and I am grateful for this. Pub is spotlessly clean and the staff are a credit to the operation. Will be there for Sunday lunch soon. Well done to you. Keep up your standards. Mike

Great little pub! We stayed overnight on the 17th September 2021 . We booked 5 rooms for ourselves and our guests. The bedroom were spacious, beautifully decorated, fresh and clean. The beds are very confortable and the linen of good quality. We had breakfast in the newly decorated restaurant… everything was perfect to say the least. So today I went back with my daughter for a spot of lunch and their was hard to choose as everything on the menu sounded great ! I highly recommend this place, food and service were perfect. Thanks to Jane and her team to make us feel welcome. I heard Sunday lunches are amazing too so will pay them a visit soon to sample it!

Very bad experience me and my Family booked a table as soon as we walked in they said they were fully booked when they never even asked our names I don’t no if it’s because we are Irish travelers but I felt like we where getting targeted individually my daughter was in tears but I highly don’t recommend going to this pub if you are Irish or come from any other background
