My partner and I often dine here. The range of options is good and the menu caters to a range of different tastes. The food is always fresh and tasty. There is a large car park that's free to park in, some disabled spaces and a couple of electric charging spaces. The great thing is, you can choose to sit inside or outside. The outdoor seating area is pleasant, especially on a nice day. If you have children, there is a children's area in a section of the restaurant. This is great as it keeps children entertained and keeps other parts of the pub calmer as families with energetic kids tend to sit in the children's area! I often order the lasagne which is nice and cheesy, it also comes with chips, garlic bread and salad. I like the macaroni cheese too, this is tasty. My partner has tried the pie and chips which he rates highly, he really likes the pies and says they are high quality and tasty. The carvery is also great, the turkey is so fresh and delicious, the roast potatoes are great and the gravy is lovely. We've also had the Yorkshire pudding wrap that's served on the lunch menu, this is fantastic. On trying the burgers, it was the only option I've tried that I was a little dissapointed about. I tried the chicken burger and whilst it had a lovely crispy coating and it seemed like real chicken breast, it was so thin! There was almost more coating than chicken. This has potential be a really good burger, so it was a shame it was so thin, I wouldn't choose this again. You can choose to have 2 burgers but really, 1 should be sufficient. My partner tried the beef burger and this too was very thin. I often have icecream after a meal and it is really lovely! I particularly like the salted caramel and peppermint flavours. It's really good value for 2 scoops and a nice way to finish a meal. You can also get a flake and sauce included in the price which is a nice extra. The cakes are absolutely massive and impressive! They do offer a take home service for cakes, which is always a bit too tempting! Overall the meals we've had have been really tasty, fresh and satisfying (apart from the burgers!). The service is always really good, the staff are friendly, professional and very polite. I believe you can do reservations if required.

We visited Sunday 29th October and had pre-booked online for 4 people at 4pm. Unfortunately when we got there it felt as though they hadn't prepared for us. The front of house had to go and look for a spare table. We were then taken to a fifthy table with leftover plates on it and cleaning equipment on it. Then we had to sit there whilst a waitress cleaned the table which was a bit awkward - surely just clean the table first? We then asked to move to another table because our initial table was positioned so tightly between others. We asked for the table to be cleaned but it just wasn't and we were left to wipe it down ourselves. Now, onto food. The carvery was a total state. There was food all over the floor, spilling into other containers - absolutely no attention to keeping it clean or tidy. The food on the floor as well as being dirty was a slipping hazard. The food itself was fine. Although my Mum was given an incredibly grisly bit of turkey. The chef should be able to recognise which bits are worth serving. Also the older male server at the bar should simply not be front of house. Grumpy and frankly quite rude. Used to come here fairly often but based on Sundays visit I'll be looking elsewhere. The whole atmosphere felt chaotic and stressful. Not sure if it's a staffing issue or capacity issue but whatever it was left us not wanting to spend too much time here.

I have to say upfront that I visited on bank holiday Monday so this review is based on that and what I experienced is probably (hopefully!) not typical of the pub on another day!! Had a reservation for 5:30pm so arrived just before 5 for drinks and to relax. It took over 15 minutes to get the drinks as there was one person looking after the bar and the queue was 2 people deep. The poor barmaid was stressed out and sweaty. All the real ales had run out and not been replaced, which wasn't helping either as people kept trying to order ale. After being served the dregs of the barrel, I ordered Guinness. This was quite well poured. Later, when it was time for food, we ordered the carvery. There was another long queue but it moved quickly. My vegetarian pie was waiting for me. Good selection of vegetables but soggy and overcooked due to sitting under the lights. Cauliflower cheese looked lovely but was tasteless. My vegetarian mushroom pie however was very tasty. The whole pub was severely understaffed for a busy bank holiday and staff were friendly but rushed off their feet. Toilets desparately needed cleaning (not surprising as pub busy) and we didn't stay for dessert as the pub was ridiculously hot. I was disappointed as the ice cream selection looked amazing. So all in all a somewhat disappointing experience but I would like to return as I think we visited on a bad day.

Went for Christmas lunch. The garlic mushroom bruschetta was very nice but the soup was too spicy for the person that ordered it. There was a good range of food at the carvery such as dauphonoise potatoes, maple coated carrots plus your usual vegetables and a choice of meats. The sprouts were too hard for some of my group to eat. The service started well but pre-ordered main was a bit slow. Then there was a long wait for our mains plates to be cleared for our whole section of the restaurant. The staff were obviously busy but the manager could of given a helping hand rather than walking backwards and forwards. I was disappointed that there wasn't any cheesecake available for dessert and my daughter was disappointed there wasn't any éclairs. When the menu said signature cakes I thought this meant what is usually on offer. This should be made clearer. The people on the table next to us finished their dessert as we finished our mains and were also waiting a very long time to get this cleared and get their tea/coffee and mince pies only to be told when the waitress arrived to go and get it yourself from the bar. I think better communication would of saved a lot of time. We weren't even offered mince pies with our hot drink. Generally it was the best food we have had for a Christmas lunch but the few things I have highlighted would make the whole experience great. One lady who was trying to keep it all going well was one of the chefs who was waitressing...

We chose here for a birthday lunch as we have young children and thought the indoor play area would be ideal, so us adults could sit and chat while the kids played nearby.

On arrival we were shown to our table right next to the play area. Not really sure what I expected, but it looked very tired and bare. Considering the size of the area, there wasn't really much there to actually play with. Though our kids ended up using their imaginations and running around making up their own games.

We ordered via the app to save waiting in the extremely large queue. Some drinks came about 15 minutes later, while others we had to chase up but they still didn't arrive until we had nearly finished our food.

The food was OK, but there were items missing from the carvery which was a shame.

Service wise, not great. One of the waitresses was cleaning tables, she was lovely and helped to wipe down our table which was very sticky. However, 2 other members of staff were quite rude. Clearly not happy in their jobs.

The place was extremely busy so I appreciate that the staff were probably under pressure, but I don't appreciate being met with attitude when I ask a simple question like "do you have any more stuffing please". Or being given a lecture about how "frozen yogurt and ice cream are exactly the same" ... They aren't... Yes they're similar but they aren't the same.

I don't recommend and won't...
