We booked to camp here as my daughter wanted to see the Stonehenge. The campsite was Beautiful! We accidentally booked the wrong type of pitch (booked a hardstanding pitch for our tent) but the staff where helpful and friendly and invited us to pitch on the grassy area with no problems. I was a bit gutted that there where no electric grass pitches but the pitch was so beautiful next to a bubbling stream and in the shade of the trees, that it is definitely worth booking a none electric pitch. The stream was shallow and a real treat with kids stomping through it and truly enjoying nature! There was also a deeper pond that was a joy to be near! The pub itself was lovely and modern with some damn good vegan food offerings! (I've been dreaming of those mushroom, spinach and cheese toasties!) With a nice outdoor area and a park and chickens/animals which my kids loved! The only let down for me was the kitchen/bathroom facilities! They where atrocious! Covered in dusty spider webs, dirty, small dark and smelly. The bin in the "kitchenette" looked like it hadn't been changed in weeks it was overflowing and surrounded in flies and wasps and the whole tiny little room stunk and was just gross. (The main bins at the gate where overflowing and stinky too!) And it must be noted that there is a serious wasp problem here, sitting outside the pub to eat was almost impossible for wasps, I actually got stung on my chest! And they where literally crawling all over the tent in their hundreds and we couldn't unzip the tent without at least three coming in. We think there may have been sap dripping onto the tent from the above trees which may be why they where such a problem, so maybe pitch where trees aren't overhanging.||||Overall the beauty of the campsite was it's best feature with the pub itself being lovely too. It's just a shame the facilities aren't...

Read moreCountry pub with classic feel making for a very good atmosphere. Different bar/seating areas allow for a homely feel at least one of the cosy bar areas has an open fire.
The menu is a bit limited but the variety is decent I think most people will find something to eat. Time to food from ordering was about an hour which is a little long I think.
The food quality was amazing I had the buttermilk chicken to start with ranch sauce, it was very good.
My main was the chicken burger with fries and slaw. The fries were over cooked and hard to get my fork into without them scooting across the plate. However the burger and slaw was amazing!! Absolutely loved the burger.
My mother in law had the 8oz sirloin steak which she asked for medium/well it was cooked to perfection and the side salad was ace.
Dessert was the spiced apple crumble, again absolutely lovely. My wife had the sticky toffee pudding which tasted great and was very light, perfect the wife said; slight issue it was cold in the middle.
However the pub apologised profusely and took it off the bill so they handled the situation perfectly.
Overall we were very happy with the whole experience, another great touch was some lovely background music at just the right volume; another great touch that added to a near perfect atmosphere.
Staff were very friendly and welcoming, we think they were perhaps 1 staff member light in front of house, but nearly every eatery is struggling for staff presently so we would suspect they are doing the best with what they can hire…..the staff they have are great.
Overall totally...
