2nd visit, but very disappointing. The pub was cold and pretty empty, like the first visit was too. Food looked the part and tasted nice but was lukewarm, the veg virtually cold and almost raw, hardly cooked at all, and the plates were cold, so the plates didn't keep the curry or rice warm. Some dishes weren't available, so we both just had a paneer curry. No naan bread, so we asked how many pieces were in a portion of chapati, he said 2, so we asked for 1 portion to share, but when we got the bill we had been charged for 2! Meal prices are like evening prices, too expensive for a lunchtime really. On our first visit he said they were going to do a special (eg cheaper) lunch menu, however the only things on it are meat products like nuggets, and chips and onion rings etc, no special.offer curries for a lunchtime price.

The pumps were off, so we couldn't have coke, but he had no bottles either, so we had to have juice. On our first visit we knew that the place was fairly new, eg. new management and staff etc so we gave the benefit of the doubt but this time, they have been there for months now, so should have been more prepared and had better lunch specials on offer.

We told the guy, who was very nice, that the food tasted good but wasn't very warm and the veg was almost cold, and he just said he'd tell the chefs. No soft drinks, no prawn curry or another main dish either. But, considering the food wasn't hot, no reduction of price as a goodwill gesture, but, we were charged extra, (for 2 portions of chapati instead of one.)

Left feeling a bit deflated really. There was an odd smell there too, and it wasn't the food. Cold feeling, not smelling inviting. Probably won't return based on...

I booked my Grandchildren for Breakfast with Santa. £15 a head, plus £8.95 for adult breakfast with a free brew! We arrived at 10am, place was not open. When we were let in it was very drab inside, there were no staff, it was however filling up rather quickly. Our orders were taken by the same person who was on the bar, and serving food!! After 1 hour 15 minutes 4 adults and 3 children in our party got the breakfast, and 2 children and 1 adult were forgotten..half an hour after breakfast which incidentally was cold, tea was served in small cups, and coffee in rather strange cups. We ordered latte and cappuccino, but flat cold coffee was served. And it was not free as stated Almost 2 hours after arrival and the other breakfasts arrived!! There was no organisation, no staff, and 5 very let down kiddies.. Santa was very different but kind to the kiddies.. , and I think the grinch was also the chef! The whole event was just not worth the money. Sad as we always use to go to this pub and its previous owners were Amazing. I would not go again and feel I cannot...

What a find! My husband found this place whilst looking for somewhere where we could go for a few drinks and park the motorhome overnight. As the owners of 2 dogs, we have been to many 'dog friendly' establishments, but NEVER one as welcoming as this. From the moment we entered, our boy was thoroughly welcomed. Helen the owner, was not only knowledgeable about dogs ( having a dog walking business herself) but spent a good amount of time ensuring he was comfortable making it a relaxing evening for all. They have a big garden although we didn't use it and a beautiful roaring fire- perfect for this time of year.

Don't like dogs, don't worry, there was plenty of seating to enable you to spend time at a distance if you wished.

I enjoyed the fish and chips, and my husband the steak burger. Both meals were home cooked, tasty, and value for money .

I can't recommend this place enough. The staff and locals made us feel so welcome and we can't...

Well, first time in here for a few years, it's changed hands a few times I think. There are significant improvements. More tables for dining, pool table is gone, there will be a beer garden in the summer, but the play area has gone. Only wanted a light lunch, but menu is not really lunch friendly. Sandwiches work out at 2 for £20 which is a bit steep at lunchtime. Not very busy, but that's not too surprising considering the options close by. Timothy Taylors Landlord on draft, great pint. There is plenty of parking and it is dog and family friendly. Possibly not fair doing a review based on a midweek lunch trip, but dinner won't be happening tonight, I couldn't finish mine, though Cajun Chicken sandwich was lovely, and Steak and onion was 'nice'. I would come here again for dinner, but not for lunch. I judge restaurant and pub food based on whether I could do better at home, and on this occasion, yes, I could.
