Literally stumbled on this pub when visiting the area, not our usual style but we were in for an extremely pleasant surprise. Definitely not the cosy atmosphere we normally go for but the hospitality of the landlady more than made up for that. A limited menu, well it was New Year's Day night, but what we had was superb. A gorgeous homemade steak and ale pie with proper pastry and not a out of the freezer type puff pastry mouthful of nothing, chips to die for too. His nibs had fish and chips with the best batter ever, his words! Excellent value for money and it was a pity that it was closed the next time we passed but a definite return visit if we are in...
Read moreWent for Father's day, had a lovely Roast (choice of 2 meats) of course I had to have both... beef was a little over done (compared to how I normally like it) not an issue though. The pork was very tender. Came with some roasties, few veggies and a Yorkshire pudding. The Roast was £20 pp (very reasonable price. After we had a good selection of puddings to go for, I had the chocolate orange cheese cake, they gave us a decent slice with a choice of cream or Icecream (few flavours to pick from). Staff are super friendly, very quick service and quick to clear the tables when done. Will definitely be going back...

What a great addition to the village of Colwall.
Definitely should be supported by the locals and a warm welcome awaits those who are passing through for the day in the Malverns.
Perfect for walkers to enjoy a pint and a great car park around the back.
Loads of local Wye Valley beers and Westons Ciders and drinks were very well priced. A perfect local.
I'm told there will be a decking area on the front soon that will take advantage of the sunshine.
My first visit was excellent and I'm sure to return soon.
I'll see you in there...
