I had the worst experience and would not recommend hiring west essex golf club for private events. To be honest the whole process was great up until the day of our event when I was shouted and screamed at by the male bar manager. When we arrived to set up at the pre-arranged time from the day previous, the room was an absolute state from the night before - when discussing this with the team I was then shouted at by the bar manager who said I should never have been there that early (bearing in mind this had been agreed with the events manager to turn up at that time to drop things off and prepare) - he raised his voice, intimidated me and I was reduced to tears. The event manager had to take me into their office to calm me down. After doing so she offered me a venue hire refund because of how awfully I was spoken to. When I made a formal complaint about this - not only did they not honour the refund promised but I never received an apology. I was intimidated and shouted at in the middle of the bar and not one apology was offered by the management team. Instead they have been telling everybody (friends I have who are members) I made the whole thing up to get a refund. This behaviour is unprofessional and quite frankly laughable. I never even asked for a refund it was offered to me I never plan events and purposefully manipulate my way for a refund, this is absurd we were spending a lot of money for our event and the last thing I expected was to be belittled like this lastly when explaining multiple times all I wanted was an apology I still never received one… The customer service was disgusting, I have never experienced anything like this and would never return/do not recommend for...

We booked this venue for our wedding. It was an amazing day, and we can not find fault in the execution of the day at all. Shula stepped us through the booking process and hand held us all the way. The poor love was unwell on the day before and on the day but turned up regardless just to make sure all was OK. All staff were lovely. Amanda was very informative and attentive, a great leader. She was so easy to get on with. A special shout out to Katie, she kept me topped up with water and attended to my little requests with professionalism and with a smile on her face. Steve, while setting up did not say no to any of our requests, what a superstar. I can't remember all the other staff names, but wow, what a team they have there. The food was delicious at the event and we had a few different dishes while setting up, all were very nice! The whole team made this so stress free for us. We had a banging time and one of my favourite parts was seeing all the staff in a line at the bar, dancing! Just perfect! The new Mr & Mrs Georgiou highly recommend this as a party venue and a few of the attendees want to play golf...

I just wanted to drop you a line or two to thank you for all your hard work in preparing our wedding. You were available when we needed you and went out of your way to ensure that everything was in place for the big day. The attention to detail was second to none. On the day, all staff were brilliant and carried off their duties faultlessly whether it was delivering food to the tables or serving at the bar. They were polite and helpfull to all our guests who had a wonderful time. Special mention to Steve who saw to it that the room was beautifully prepared and a vision for our guests, he managed the evening and ensured that the DJ knew where to get ready and handled any queries liaising with our master of ceremonies which left us able to enjoy our day. Secondly, Karen who kept tight control of the table and the bar which she ran faultlessly. I cannot recommend West Essex Golf Club any higher, our wedding day was everything we wanted it to be thanks to the hard work, attention to detail and the care of West Essex staff.
