I decided to try this pub for the first time on my way home from work. Upon approaching the young lady at the entrance to the outdoor seating area, we were immediately confronted with a very rude and all round unwelcoming attitude. Before we had chance to be seated this particular young lady seemed it fitting to tell us that we were not aloud to take drugs in the outdoor marquee. I found this very upsetting and it made me feel very stereotyped. On the way to my table she explained there wasn't to be any large tables of young "lads", however immediately behind us sat a table of six gentlemen all appearing to be younger than myself. To conclude my poor experience as the rain came it was explained to us that there will be no more drinks served until the rain stops because and I quote "the staff are getting p$@s wet through." The Bell and Harp is a lovely friendly country pub with a great range of well kept real ales and a very good selection of tasty bar snacks. The pub has been recently renovated to a very high standard and has a very large well kept beer garden with plenty of parking. We received a very warm welcome from the friendly bar staff and locals. Read moreWent last week 2 weeks after lifting of lockdown rules. Beer garden full - many people standing up and mingling with other tables. Not adhering to Government guidelines- no sign of track and trace ,no face masks on when entering beer garden or visiting toilets. No masks on when standing up. Total disgrace. We'll not be visiting again until all Covid regulations are adhered to. More interested in making money than keeping customers and hard working staff safe....
