ate here on Wednesday 12th august on the eat out to help out. we had booked for 7.30pm. it was very busy when we arrived and we had to wait in a sd queue outside. they asked if we wouldn't mind an outside table as that would be quicker. it appears they were seating walk in as well as people who had booked, otherwise there would have been enough room. It appeared shambolic. we chose a table which was on closer inspection not very clean so we asked for it to be wiped, which a young lad did with some spray and a serviette, he missed quite a lot of the table. it took them a while to take our drinks and dinner orders. we ordered a starter and a main each and we had to then pay as we were outside. it was £45 for three drinks, three starts and three mains, that is with the government discount. it took ages fir our drinks to come and then ages for our starters. when are starters came two were the wrong ones and they brought no cutlery so when the two correct ones came and finally the cutlery the first starter was cold. the starters were very nice. the we waited an age for our mains, we asked for more drinks but the staff were running around very very busy and just didn't come over to take our order. our mains finally came at 9.45pm and were not hot and several dips and things were missing and again no cutlery, that took another five mins whilst our dinners sat in the cool dark evening air. now we have eaten here lots in the past and the food has always been good but not this time. the very poor service and cold food is very of putting. they were not organised so it makes us wonder that they are indeed covid safe. it seems they had too many customers for staff, we didn't go inside so no idea if tables were socially distanced. they did take our temperature on seating us but this seems too be only thing we could see that was a nod to covid. the staff were not wearing masks stood close when serving. it was a very disappointing experience which means we will not be going back, esp whilst covid it...
Read moreI have visited Risley Park many times over the years and has always been OK, but their service on our latest visit was absolutely awful. On arrival we were told we would be seated in the bar area for food, which were high seated chairs at a table (even though on booking we said there would be two children). Usually you would be seated in the restaurant area, it wasn't a major issue but there was a large loud/drunk group nearby. Our table when seated, hadn't been cleaned which the girl apologised for and did clean quickly. She said they were extremely busy but it didn't seem overly busy at all. We didn't have menus and had to ask for them, when our drinks eventually arrived. We ordered our food and then waited an hour for for it, this was only after we asked them where it was. It then arrived quickly but rushed and only half of what we ordered turned up. My husband ordered a larger Sunday dinner but was missing the extra items with it. When an item did eventually arrive to the table we had to keep asking where other items were. They would bring another item and AGAIN had to ask where something else was. By this point our mains had gone cold and was sick of prompting them for other items so we just ate what we had. The food was basic, the meat was like something out of a packet, the veg was watery and tastless, the mash was microwaved and there was no stuffing as stated on the menu. Certainly not worth the money! We got very little apology from them and was never told there would be a wait for food. They were NOT busy and they all seemed to be doing very little of anything, certainly not rushed off their feet. The manager was cold and when we asked for our bill she said "check thats all correct" well I think they should be checking that and actually if she had any customer service might of taken off what we didn't get until the end of our meals. But no, they just want your money and couldn't care less. We couldn't wait to leave and certainly won't...
Read moreHaven't been to the Risley Park for a long time, and it will be a very long time before we go again. On entering, the 'front desk' read, wait here to be served. We waited, no one came. So headed to the Bar, and asked if we could sit down and have a meal. Yes, of course, so we did. Ordered a drink at the bar. Went to table, read menu's, no one came to take our order, so went back to bar, and ordered food. Hubby wanted Prawn Cocktail for starter, followed by Cod and Chips. I wanted a Beef Burger. Was told, I couldn't order anything on the back of the menu on a Sunday. Great. So turned over, on Bistro section, ordered Chicken Burger, was told again, I couldn't order from Bistro section until 5pm FFS!! So Lasagne it was. At no point when ordering, was I asked if I wanted anything else, or did I want garden peas or mushy peas with the fish, did I want Garlic Bread with the Lasagne. Stupidly, I thought this would come with it. Prawn Cocktail arrived for hubby, was nice. Mains arrived, my Lasagne looked like it had been sat for ages, and been reheated. No garlic bread, just lasagne. Hubby's fish arrived, chips in separate bowl, along side more peas, carrots and beans, which we hadn't orderd. The fish batter was soggy, the chips Luke warm, and the fish, well, it wasn't white fish, it was a sickly grey colour. Not nice. We left half of it. Went to bar to pay, the fella didn't even bother to say 'was your meal ok', seriously obviously couldn't give a monkeys, £43 later, I'm very disappointed and won't be going back for a long...
