Visited for lunch on Monday for my wife’s birthday first time visiting since seb has taken over. First thing I have to say is what a fantastic job he has done with making the place look fresh and clean love the new decor. Staff are so friendly also. The cocktail menu is awesome the wife had the passionfruit martini big thumbs up On them. The fish and chips is super tasty. Love the crushed peas and mint. That is a great touch lots of flavour. Fish is nice and crispy nice seasoning on the chips also. Breadsall burger was delicious nice thick bacon inside it perfectly cooked patties the pickle salsa tasted great too Would recommend this place to anyone now looking forward to trying more of the new menu and seeing exciting stuff is happening in the future. Keep it up seb👍

Decided to stop off for a drink whilst walking our dog and found it to be a great place, to relax and unwind for a while. Great selection of drinks, lots of seating outside (great for when the warm weather is here!) And dogs are allowed in the left side of the pub, which is really nice. Although we've not tried any of the other food, the cheesy chips we've had on both occasions have been fab! Nice and hot, plenty of cheese and something to hit the spot. So I'm sure the rest of the food here is certainly worth a try (sounds like it from the menu). Looking forward to stopping off here again on a future dog walk. 😊👍🏻

Was excited to try The Windmill as it’s under new management. Went for Sunday lunch with my young family. The service and ambience was lovely. The food was superb. Absolutely delicious and great value for money. Huge portions. My Auntie took home a doggie bag and it lasted two more meals. My new favourite Sunday lunch in Derby. We will most definitely be back!

We went yesterday. First time at the pub for months so a bit apprehensive but needn't have worried.

You check in at the car park entrance, track and trace, hand sanitise then you're shown to your pre-booked table. All very well organised and safe. We had a 4 hour slot booked.

There are brand new tables and benches with umbrellas all across the car park so no on site parking unfortunately.

Drinks and food can be ordered and paid for on the 'My Pub' app or you can order from the staff who serve you at your table.

The original seating area behind the little fence is a 'walk in' area. If there's a free table you can have it without a booking.

Food was served until 5pm only but it all looked and smelt delicious.

There's a one way system to use the toilet....in the front door then down the back steps to come out, then around the building to get back to your seat. Masks have to be worn to go indoors.

I felt perfectly safe as every possible precaution had been taken.

One complaint though was the hand dryer in the ladies loo didn't work but there was plenty of loo roll 😊👍

Well done to all the staff who worked really hard to make sure everything ran like clockwork...

I visited last Wednesday (table 103). I went to the bar twice and on both occasions I was left waiting for service with no staff around. The first occasion when staff did appear they carried on doing something around the till with no acknowledgment of me stood waiting, the new landlord appeared to say goodbye to staff also didn’t acknowledge a waiting patron. On the second occasion I went searching for a staff member and managed to find one who was coming up from the cellar. My order was taken but when my food arrived, the sandwich didn’t come with the chips I had paid extra for. I didn’t fancy going on the hunt for a staff member and nobody came and checked the food was ok so ended up out of pocket. Oh well! Food was ok, the bread on sandwich was very dry but the fish was good. I also had 3 of the small plates which were good. The pricing of the food was expensive compared to other top establishments in Derby and was limited in choice. I do like that they use some locally sourced produce. I’ll be back in the future for a pint or two, probably not for...

Terrible service at windmill Pub today, decided to go there for lunch today and ordered 3 drinks and 3 roast dinners, we were informed that the food will be 40 minutes, and then waited another 45 minutes and we still hadn’t received any drinks and realised that other people were receiving theirs that had arrived after us, we were then told that our order had been lost so no food or drinks had been ordered, how can they lose our order ??? we were extremely unhappy and decided to cancel the food as were going to have to wait another hour and a half for this, and yes we had the drinks for free.

This is the last time we will be drinking or eating in this pub, I felt the bar staff didn’t give a damn so they certainly don’t get my money.

PS I have given you 1 star but only so my review gets posted and other...
