This place is a little gem which I have only just discovered. Today however I was extremely disappointed. After having bought some of the delicious cake available, I went back for takeaway. I was quite surprised at the paltry slice I had been given. Priced at £4 a slice it was barely enough for one, absolutely not value for money and not what either myself or friends have previously experienced. I feel somewhat short changed. Had I checked before leaving i would have said something but on previous occasions I felt I have received value for money. It has somewhat put me off coming back now. £4 to spend on a slice of cake is a small...

84 By The Shore is a charming family owned business, ideally situated near the coastal path between Portchester Castle and Wicor Shore. A great spot for a mid point stop for break, hot and cold beverages and a range of snacks, there's a nice, cosy little seated area, with shade if needed, or you can stay near the sea front and enjoy the views. The young ladies that served my wife and I were polite and friendly, exactly what you'd expect from a boutique hospitality outlet....

When we looked at the menu I thought it was a bit pricey, but after tasting the hot chocolate (Vanilla Caramel Dark Choc!) I think it was great value.

Will be back again soon to try the other flavours.

Partner had a White chocolate Banoffee and that was also lovely!

I said it at the kiosk and I'll say it now- puts the big chains to shame!

Great selection on the menu for drinks and light lunches. We will be back for sure...
