We rang at 1.30pm and booked a table for 7 pm. As we are not local to the area, we had a bit of difficulty finding it,but of course we did the right thing, and called and 6.30 apologising that we would be there at 7.10. We arrived at 7.05, to be greeted with, "there's not really very much food left we've been busy". We were handed two white sheets of A4 paper, with the menu hand written (including the 4 dishes that where no long available). We very quickly ordered no more than 5 minutes later ( there only was 4 other dishes to pick from so not much real deliberating to be had). At 8 pm the young server approached the table and said "have yous not been given your starter yet"? To which we replied no, the young server left and came back and said we are really busy, can I get you a free drink, my partner took a coke I declined. Bear in mind we've now been there 50 minutes. With no one checking on the table at all. We received the starter at 8.10, 2 orders of chicken wings. Now to be fair they were nice, but it was literally wings with what looked like what ever ends of salad they had left. Needless to say we where very hungry at this point so 5 minutes polished those off. The main landed at 8.25. Food was very very average. The young lad came back to the table at 8.40 asking did we want the bill (we where still eating). We paid the bill and left.
As much as I understand we are coming out of lockdown restrictions, and it's fantastic to see in door dining opening up again (we were really looking forward to our first meal out), the level of service needs to meet basic consumer demands. Poor service, average food. Will not...
Read moreVisited this Hotel on 9th June 2017 as part of a Country Music Weekend in Donegal. This was all a surprise to me as my wife got me the weekend as my birthday present on 21st June. I was told I was going to Enniskillen, I thought we were going shopping. We arrived at this hotel were welcomed by the Manager and staff (still no idea what was going on) tables were set out with sandwiches then along came soup, then I noticed a few Irish country singers who I knew from playing their music on my All Round Country Show on Caithness FM Radio based in Thurso, Caithness, North Scotland. This music was laid on for our groups from Scotland, it ended up a fantastic afternoon, fantastic entertainment. Later in afternoon the staff came round with baskets of sausages, chicken bites and chips. The staff joined in with us at the dancing, they were very nice and helpful, the food was fantastic and the Manager was very friendly. Upon leaving the Manager and staff shook hands with everyone on the coaches and also took photos of everyone. We had a fantastic afternoon and I would recommend this Hotel to anyone, the hospitality was second to none. Roll on next year when we go back again. Read moreWent for a meal on birthday/anniversary and food was amazing. Service was attentive but not intrusive. Food was best I have had in years and is a credit to new owners and if they keep this level of service they will be best in Fermanagh very soon. Food cooked fresh while you wait and a very good size of menu. I am a good enough eater but I could not finish my meal as the portions are good size but I got fresh cod in beer batter with homemade chip and was perfect. My wife got turkey and ham meal which was very well but not dry or anything. My wife had garlic mushrooms for starters and were fresh and I had egg mayonnaise and as a starter I thought it was a dinner but was really delicious as was all the food and very reasonably price. So good luck to future to new owners and staff and keep up your excellent service and thank you for helping make my birthday and anniversary (wedding) a brilliant day and...
