We had Sunday lunch here. 4 adult roasts, and 1 child roast, and 2 children’s burgers. I had real high hopes of this place after hearing such great reviews, and was left feeling…meh. First of all the service staff were fantastic. We had a lovely waitress and she was helpful and happy and just very good. However the wait was long. I know they’re busy but it was such a long wait waiting to order and getting our food. But as I said they were super busy. Now the food, this is where we were disappointed. My mum and I had the pork, and when it came it was the thinnest pieces, and overcooked. The fat wasn’t rendered at all and it was chewy. Also 3 tiny slim slices for £15.95 a roast I feel is on the pricier side. My dad had the chicken and that was nice, my sister had the beef and was underwhelmed. Again, overcooked. The veg, although plenty of it, was simply steamed, not a hint of trying to make it tasty with a hint of butter or salt and pepper. It was very home cooked like. The stuffing ball I had was rock hard and overcooked. The Yorkshire was nice, the gravy tasted of nothing and the roast potatoes lacked seasoning. To be honest everything just lacked. As I mentioned £15.95 for a roast isn’t cheap, and we’ve been to a carvery over near Hereford that was the same price and it was just so so much better. I hope they don’t take this as negative criticism but something to work on. People like their veg to taste of something that’s all. And having overcooked meat and underwhelming gravy is a no for a roast. My child’s burger was ok. The chips were nice. My other child’s roast was big and he enjoyed his chicken as that was very nice. Also the cauliflower cheese was fantastic! The best part of the meal...

I had the pleasure of visiting The Globe Inn while staying locally at an Airbnb. The staff were incredibly friendly and engaging, making us feel right at home. The pub's atmosphere was warm and welcoming, with cheerful locals adding to the friendly vibe.

One of the standout features was their dog-friendly policy, and our four-legged friend, Doug, received plenty of attention from both the staff and locals. They even ensured Doug stayed hydrated with a bowl of water and a few treats – a thoughtful touch!

Now, let's talk about the food. We went all out and indulged in three courses, and every dish was a culinary delight. I must highly recommend their Camembert with bread and chutney; it was absolutely divine. The quality of their produce truly shone through, especially in the fantastic sausage and mash. And for dessert, the sticky toffee pudding was a true winner, satisfying my sweet tooth perfectly.

The Globe Inn is a fantastic choice whether you're staying in the area or planning a special trip. Kudos to Gary, the landlord, for creating this wonderful traditional pub restaurant with exceptional food and a genuinely friendly country pub atmosphere. Special thanks also to our server, Darcy, who ensured our dining experience was top-notch. Although I live 20 miles away, I will be coming back for another...

I booked in a slot for Sunday lunch for the two of us on the 25th and a room in the inn afterwards.

The food was absolutely fantastic. have a lot of experience making Sunday roasts in Variety of different venues as a caterer and this one was such a wonderful experience. We had starters, mains and desserts, and they were all delicious.

The room wasn't enormous, but it suited us perfectly. The bathroom looked fairly recently renovated in a very nice style and the room as a whole was very comfortable and well presented.

They notified us well in advance that the restaurant did not serve breakfast, so we checked the information book that was in the room and chose one of the local cafes that they had listed to get breakfast from on the following morning (which was also lovely).

If we ever find ourselves planning to go to the area again would be most happy to return. To top it all off, the bill was almost half what would have expected from pubs that serve food not half as good! Hats off all around.

The staff on the Sunday were incredibly busy but still polite and the service was very snappy considering how full the inn was. Praise to all who were working, especially the heroes in the...

What a wonderful pub. As soon as we walked in, we were welcomed by the team, who remained attentive and friendly throughout. Exceptional service from everyone we encountered. We were there for roast lunch and had pork and beef, which was all high quality, freshly cooked and presented beautifully. The portion sizes were fantastic! The only complaint was the stuffing, the three of us all only had one small ball each, and while delicious, we all could have done with more. We didn’t have starters, but we did have desserts. The chocolate fudge cake portion was huge! It could have fed all of us. Again, delicious and really excellent quality. The atmosphere was just what you want on a rainy day, cosy, welcoming and with a roaring fire. Even the toilets were good, with added extras like deodorant and hairspray on offer. A really lovely pub, I will be returning.
