My sister took my partner and I on a trip through the forest near Newent to find Harts Barn. This turned out to be a magical place full of mystery and surprises. The old tea room was like stepping back in time. Amusing anecdotes dotted around the walls and Glen Miller playing softly in the background.

The breakfast was fabulous and could be adjusted to your choice if required. The mouth-watering cakes were dangerously close. Luckily, we were too full to endulge in these homemade delicacies .

The staff were super efficient and friendly.

My only concern was the outside toilets. They could be looked after much better.

Do not let this put you off. The craft and delicatessen rooms are a treat. Also, the cookery and blacksmith schools create an awesome aroma...

This was one of our final places we visited on our trip to the general area of Herefordshire, and I both couldn't be happier we visited, but also am sad it isn't closer to home! The menu is delightful and completely delicious, and as someone who has possibly up to 100 different types of tea at home, their care with tea really made my heart sing. Everyone working there was lovely, attentive and had recommendations for places to visit as well as creating a warm and caring environment for doggy visitors. The presentation was homely, and the lavender along with the setting outside made the experience ring true to a period drama in the best way. Great times, great food, great people!...

We booked for afternoon tea and when we arrived we said we have booked for afternoon tea. A waitress brought over a menu and told us we could pick a sandwich that was from the 5.50 prices and asked what we wanted to drink we said tea obviously. They brought a big sandwich out and our tea which I did think was strange, after a while no cakes or scones came so we asked where they were. We were told we needed to inform the waitress who took our initial order 😂😂😂. Even though we booked it and told the person who took us to our seats. Again noone apologised it was our fault. We did get the scones and our cakes which were all very...

We went for a Sunday afternoon cup of tea and a scone and both were delicious! Everyone was super friendly. The tea was very tasty - we even bought a bag to bring home. My son enjoyed his Rooibos (a taste of home). Hubby had the citrus Rooibos and I had earl grey. All were loose leaf and brewed to perfection. The sultana scone with jam and clotted cream was sumptuous as was the cinnamon roll. We were intrigued by the Sunday roast on the menu as well as all of the farm made ice-creams on offer and will definitely be going back there to sample more. We sat at the window and had a lovely view.

Popped into this tearoom today and was really impressed. The staff were super friendly and welcoming, which made the whole visit feel relaxed and enjoyable. I ordered the Eggs Benedict and it was absolutely amazing – perfectly cooked and full of flavour. A nice touch was that they even have a special doggy sausage on the menu at no extra cost, which my four-legged friend loved just as much as I enjoyed my breakfast. Great atmosphere, great food, and a place I’ll definitely be visiting again!

Such a fabulous tearoom with a fantastic menu. Friendly, welcoming staff and great atmosphere. We regularly come here, usually for lunch but occasionally breakfast. They cater for various allergies and have a wide range of gluten free choices. We have also had take aways (ploughman’s, afternoon tea and Sunday lunches) which are best ordered in advance. We highly recommend a visit, booking is advisable to avoid disappointment! Looking forward to our next visit very soon!
