We have visited the Watersmeet a few times now , it's a wonderful place , we made a last minute booking for food ( again ) , it was a lovely sunny day so we sat outside while our order of 3 Sunday lunches and drinks was being prepared. There was so much to talk about and look at , a man fishing, another man with a remote control boat ( not a noisy one ) , ducks with ducklings, swans etc , within minutes our lunches were being brought out to us . If you have a big appetite, these lunches are for you , melt in the mouth beef and tender turkey with a big variety of vegetables, absolutely delicious, would recommend this place every time .

It was a lovely day and a lovely setting. Food was reasonably priced and staff friendly with excellent social distancing, and hygiene. The chips that came with the meals were white and limp and no one came out for a table check. The other food was OK though the bacon salty and sausages burnt. The salt cellar that came out with the meal was full of rice. Maybe they put the rice in to help keep the salt dry. There just wasn't any salt in it. It was below average. The flowering baskets were beautiful though.

We popped in for Sunday Lunch. Wow! What a huge, piping hot, delicious roast. Beef and Pork both cooked lovely. All the trimmings were delicious, I’ve never had so much tasty bacon with cabbage before! Would recommend! The swans are nice but a bit angry 😂 Lovely views over the fishing lakes. Would recommend! Will be sure to visit again. Thank you for a lovely lunch

This is the worst place ever. Damp and dingy rooms, electrical sockets hanging off the wall, charity shop furniture and fittings. Pillows are choice of colour white and what one would describe as stain yellow. The wood floors are creatively decorated with mop pieces. Chipped bath, plugs unattached, frayed towels, shower door rubber beading limply hanging pointing at the constantly wet floor, with rusty bins and radiators to finish the ambiance . When the extract fan finally chugs into action it is like an old banger being slowly strangled. Sleep times are accompanied by the bite alarms of the carp anglers beep beep beep beep beep beep. Views of the big pond are hampered by bags of fishing tackle plonked directly in front of your window. Externally you can take your pick from various garbage dumps with what looks like power sourced from a the main building through an open cable going to one of the dumps. You may ask what do you expect for £10 per night but this was an eye watering £75 per night breakfast not included. Which may be a blessing in disguise. By any standards, this place should be avoided by all except if you are a coarse angler. Pull it down and start again Only one star but it should be 0 as they will not let you send...

Fantastic family meal; 9 diners (6 adults and 3 children) visited for Sunday lunch. Bar and waiting staff very attentive, friendly and welcoming atmosphere. Two little children were given colouring books which was a lovely a touch. Sunday roasts are incredibly generous portions with a selection of four meats (you can pay a couple of pounds extra for all meats) accompanied with roasts, stuffing, yorkshire puddings and at least 5 different veggies. Truly home cooked food and it shows through presentation and taste. Although none of our party ate from the menu as we all chose sunday roast, the menu was varied with something for everyone. Bar was well stocked with 5 different flavours of Whitley Neil Gin (my favourite!), local ales both bottled and hand pumped and a varied selection of wines. Great stuff! Many thanks for accommodating us all at what was short notice when you already had another large party attending. My only tip is: go visit. You will not be...

A shame! We’ve been a few times, always had good food, good service and good value. I would have liked to have given a good review but we were let down at our recent visit. Firstly, the staff behind the bar are excellent, always pleasant and provide good service, the food is excellent, huge portions and very tasty, this we enjoyed as usual but… We stay at a local campsite which we love and when a local asked us where we were staying he was then very rude about the place, giving some pretty bigoted remarks which the landlord sitting nearby joined in with. They were also being quite derogatory of the Welsh, which we are and not being very quiet about it. Sadly, we won’t...
