We have been before and love their Turkish Eggs and Eggs Benedict, but today treated ourselves to the Mother's Day Afternoon Tea. It was all well organised with attentive staff. After serving beverages, of tea leaf tea or 'real' coffee the main attraction came out! Each serving had a selection of finger sandwiches with fillings of ham, egg mayo and cheese savoury each on white and brown bread. The bread was light and springy and the fillings tasty. An individual sausage roll slice had a generous amount of good quality and flavoursome sausage meat - it was meaty and indulgent. Similarly, the vegetable quiche filling was rich and beautifully soft. On to the next tier of treats! A sweet scone with strawberry jam and cream; the scone was good, but I do prefer a warm scone. This said, it tasted good cold. I'm unsure if the jam was homemade - I don't think it was - but then again, this is a £20 price tag so it doesn't need to be homemade IMO. The best bit - cakes! 😋 Lovely fresh cream meringues, the gooiest of chocolate brownies and a wonderfully light sponge cake with buttercream topping with dolly mixtures. Oof! I was fit to burst and demolished the lot 😄 You just made my Mother's Day 🥰

What a great little cafe, id say on the posher end (but good to find in Gateshead) as it's menu options, dining experience, food quality, price tag and service seem to match accordingly. The food was exceptional, great menu options, it would have been nice if it was a bit more affordable, I'd probably visit more regular then, but it's comfortable, clean and spacious. We were served by Lil, who couldn't have been more fantastic and welcoming if she tried, thank you! 🫶... This was our first visit, apparently been open for 2 years, surprised I didn't hear about it sooner but glad to know about it now and will recommend to family and friends. 👍 Only 1 set of loos which puts me off if it's a busy place, but it's the nicest WC I've ever used, lol. Also helps if it's not central but tucked away clearly separate from dining areas. Just some feedback for ya there. Thanks once again, compliments to chefs, servers and owners keep up the good work and see you again soon. 👌😁

Had a delicious, belated Mother's Day brunch on my most recent visit. I'm glad we booked in advance as the spring sunshine had brought with it lots of walk-in customers, though we were never neglected and had our order taken within 5 minutes having already made use of the menu available online. The spring menu had plenty of vegetarian options for myself, as well as more meaty selections for my mother. There are vegan dishes on the menu and vegan options on some of the vegetarian or meat dishes, too. Tom's home made cola is my favourite refreshment, though it is often a hard choice between that and freshly ground coffee supplied by the Tynemouth Coffee Co. With a lovely cheery atmosphere, welcoming, friendly staff and gorgeous freshly made food, Ardallan never disappoints. I would highly recommend a visit here, and can guarantee you will be back for more.
