2nd visit here was awful. Placed order at the till but the girl did something wrong which Meant I had to go through the whole order again with someone else as the girl just walked off. The price was also different even though the order was the same. Waited for the food to come which we got all 3 of our drinks, one person's food and half of another person's food. The American pancakes were not good at all. Burnt, greasy and tasted of bicarb and salt. Had 2 bites and one other person at my table tasted it and agreed they were not good. Still waiting for the rest of the food to come and had to ask where it was. Told the girl that the pancakes were not nice and she took them away. Nobody came to enquire as to what the problem was or to ask how to rectify the situation. Luckily the others in my party shared their food with me as I had nothing. It was only when a young lad came over to ask if we had one or two cups(?) that we pointed out to him that we had sent food back and that we were disappointed that nobody had addressed our complaint he asked us some questions about why we sent it back. Said we should have spoken to him instead of the girl that messed up the order. Shame as the first time we went were really impressed and recommended it to...
Read moreArrived and was shocked, appeared to be upmarket for an industrial estate. Comfortable seating and lots of fussy Christmas decorating has been done, really sweet, full credit. Food - I had a small breakfast, wasn't able to finish it as bacon and sausage were very tough, think they were reheated in a microwave. The egg was clean and perfectly cooked, the slice of toast delicious but I don't think it was value for money. £5.50 for a small breakfast 1 x back bacon, 1 x 4oz Cumberland sausage, 1 x egg, small pot baked beans, half a tomato and a slice of toast but bacon and sausage were hard and dry. I sadly didn't find the staff to be warm or welcoming which does let the place down. Whilst I was still attempting to eat my food a member of staff came and cleared away my husbands plate, even a serviette which I had been using to dab my fingers, there was no enquiry about the food, which is a first, I've never before been anywhere that being asked if all is OK, is not standard practice. I am also put off by dogs being allowed in. I think Quayside cafe could become the ideal place for dog walkers and dog parties.
I will not return and would...
Read moreVisited for breakfast today with two friends. The location is a bit of a treasure map, buried deep in Colwick industrial estate, but it is worth the effort. Ordered some food and drinks, prices aren't too bad, standard city prices really. The food was lovely, coffee was good, milkshake was awesome 👌🏻 the place has been well fitted out, very fresh and clean inside, all looks brand new, well decorated, really cool cafe atmosphere. Sadly service was so slow. Took a while to place my order and the food came out followed by the coffees, just wasn't quite up to speed. Read a few reviews and responses from the owner and looks like they have some staff shortages going on, to be fair, the staff that were working were (mostly) very friendly and happy to help, though clearly rushed. We heard about this from a friend but have seen it advertised a lot so suspect they're struggling with influx of customers. Will visit again as I enjoyed the food and hopefully next time they have sorted the few minor issues....
