I used to go here in the 00s for birthday parties / special events as I went to school in Calverton so it was the 'go to' event place. I'm not sure if the decor has changed since then but it's well maintained and very clean - as are the toilets. As others have stated, it's an all you can eat but a different type to the standard buffet affair. Dishes are prepared fresh to order, food not being wasted is encouraged and portions are made according to the size of the group to ensure that everyone gets a bit of each order. Duck is £3 extra. The service is excellent, staff really attentive and full of smiles. The quality of the food was very good - excellent, the portions were just right. The noodles were really nice, as were the spring rolls, ribs, chicken skewers & sizzling beef in black pepper sauce. The drinks were quite expensive and price list not on the table so it can become an expensive night out if you're on a budget - but it's well worth giving a try or for a special occasion that's not a pub but not too formal, either. It's not somewhere that you'd go to weekly - although I'm sure that some people could do and perhaps do, but I would definitely recommend trying it. Even if one was to try the reasonably priced takeaway options to get a flavour (literally) of what Springwater has to offer then try it for sure!

I've been going to Springwater for years as they're all you can eat buffet is the perfect family treat but I've noticed that the food quality is wavering a little... The restaurant still retains that old style feel with linen table clothes and huge tables for big family events and you can tell when you walk inside there's always a celebration taking place. Our group have been attending at least once a year for about 10yrs now and recently we've noticed the quality of the meat isn't what it used to be. I can't really argue for the price of £25 per head but we rarely get to the main courses as we like to fill on starters. The starters have more vegetarian options and variation so they're our staple. Soft drinks are £4.80 for a coke and whilst I appreciate they make their money on drinks, it's a huge price for one soft drink! I'd still recommend this place for large family events but the price isn't looking as attractive as it used to and that's a shame.

Large busy chinese restaurant What we liked Easy to find Good service at tables Large car park Plenty of space round tables Food very good standard Warm seating area Veggie food well catered for with individual diner of large group Really nice selection of seafood dishes What we didn’t like like so much Menu you are only allowed to order 4 items at once. This means that if only one of the party chooses that option, they cook enough for everyone - which for a party of 11 was not good No mixed platter of starter to share No shredded duck option At £19.95 per head I’ve enjoyed better in Notts and around locally, that said, overall had a really nice dining experience with no language problems from the waiting staff and very attentive table service. I would go back but maybe not for party, better for couples or party of 4.

AVOID. Do not recommend. Arrogant beyond belief. So I’m In the area on business. Decided to come to the Springwater. Very poor decision on my part. Advised I couldn’t eat from the buffet menu as I was there solo. MUST be for 2 persons. @£27 per head. That’s a big ask for someone alone & trying to eat a quiet meal solo. Queried that pricing model with the maitre d…. Hold on. It’s a buffet…??? What difference does it really make…. Had I have joined an existing table. I could obviously have paid them £27 and eaten alone. Same food choices for me. Clearly this restaurant are happy enough to lose the food revenue and a few drinks. Glad business is so good that you can turn people away who aren’t in a party of 2 or more. On a Monday evening also!! Bonkers…. The arrogance of that pricing model simply astounds me. Whether the food is good or not, avoid this place as a point of principle. Clearly this restaurant is in it for the money alone. Begs the question what quality the ingredients are, that model being the case. It’s certainly not customer satisfaction or enjoyment… Rant over almost…. Here’s an alternative for you fellow google review viewers. :-

Travelled to the Golden Phoenix a just few miles away. Buffet menu £19.99… (might be a Monday deal, I don’t know) Welcomed with open arms despite being 3/4’s full. Very clean, food amazing 🤩. I’d go as far as saying the Dim Sum is on a par with Cathay Pacific’s First Class lounge offering at London Heathrow Terminal 3.

I truly hope the management or owners of the Springfield can articulate a suitable justification and apology for...

Despite the food being tasty, I refuse to give this restaurant a good review as the Customer Service was appalling. I do not expect to go out for a family meal and for one of the waiters to raise their voice at my table. The first male waiter came to our table and we asked if it's a buffet as we had never visited the restaurant before and he said "it's like that all the time" in a grumpy manner. Then he brought one of us the wrong drink over. I did not complain about this. Then he let us know that you could only order 4 dishes at once. His whole manner was patronising and he seemed annoyed if we took more than 10 seconds to decide what dish we wanted.

Then much to my disbelief, the next waiter was worse, we asked for 4 mains and he angrily raised his voice and said "you're ordering 4 mains without rice!!" We ordered noodles as one but we weren't to know that you can include rice with the meals as well because we thought it was just 4 separate things as they said it to be. He tutted at us. He also got mad as he came over and I was just finishing off eating and we were going to ask to order the mains as he was there but he walked in a huff when I said I was eating. It was uncalled for and disgraceful. I can safely say I will never be coming back, I do not want to spend money to be made to feel uncomfortable whilst ordering my food. It is a shame because if the service was at least moderate then we would...
