Carisbrooke Arms — Restaurant in Gosport

I went in day prior to book a Sunday table , I was asked to give meat options which I did , as they did not have pork and my other companions not with me I chose beef and chicken and was told I could adjust on the day , when we arrived the lad I’d told the meat too had written lamb and the woman from the kitchen was exceptionally rude and talked down to me like I had made an error , I bit my tongue even though was in front of a lot of people I am a customer as can’t imagine how the poor lad would have felt had it been aimed at him . Not only was she rude to me she was also rude to another table opposite us which again had a few people on it , and our bill was over £100 so not a small amount as would theirs have been . Being rude is unacceptable in the hospitality business had that been a member of bar staff they would have been pulled aside and potentially sacked . I and I believe others will not be returning due to the woman’s attitude and unlike me someone will bite back and the pub will lose lot of customers. It was a pub that I started going to frequently with my dog ​​recently. Everyone was very friendly and my dog ​​really wanted to go there. Unfortunately, the last time I went they was racist. Security came and politely told me that my dog ​​was big and that I had to go out because it was the weekend. Great spacious pub, good atmosphere with TV, pool table and plenty of dartboards. Spoilt for choice with traditional pub food including meat eaters, vegetarians and vegan options too, something for everyone including smaller portions too. Excellent selection of beers and a choice of alcohol-free options too.
