Spur of the moment decision to go for Sunday lunch. A bit short on places to park, but managed to get one not too far away. I'd have preferred it if the ' dog - friendly ' area had been kept separate from the rest of the dining area, ( tho I appreciate that not all dogs get on well with one another ! ). One owner did allow their dog to run around un - checked, which was quite disturbing. Clients sitting near to me were having a REALLY noisy conversation about things which I'd consider better to be kept private. Nevertheless, the overall atmosphere was pleasant, as was the dining area itself. The room, table, cutlery, etc., were all clean, and the staff were very friendly, helpful, and adaptable. As a pensioner, I was allowed to order a child - sized portion, ( to leave room for dessert ! ), a concession which I really appreciated. I have a good appetite, but it was plenty for me. Great to find roast pork on the menu --- with the bonus of some marvellous crackling ! Service was prompt, and some extra requests I made, attended to with no fuss. Everything nicely cooked and tasty. My dessert was something quite unique : utterly delicious ! I wish I could afford to visit more often, but your prices are certainly not exorbitant, and my meal was worth every penny. I've recommended you to some of my friends, and I will certainly come again...
Read moreTo start I’d like to say the staff were very nice 🙂Very bland poor quality food tho! The experience, average at best. The eggs were overdone and the chips were powdery! It’s not cost effective and definitely not good value for money!!! Charged us for two cappuccino’s because it was in a small latte glass absolutely shocking!! £7.40 for one drink!!!! The dessert was very very disappointing personally I think it was a ripoff , the waffle hard and the Banoffee was a joke! embarrassingly bad. The garlic cheesy bread a stodgy mess and the so called Gammon literally ham egg and chips. To be honest the ham was ok but well hidden and very little of it !! they didn’t even send out the extras that went with it. My father-in-law is local so that’s another place for us to give a wide berth. The vegetarian burger moving mountains burger very basic in a bun £14.95. So basically £12.95 for a few chips and some salad !!! All three of us gave it 5/10 max. The pints of beer were the only thing that were priced sensibly at £4.70 each. They know they ripped us off with the cappuccino it was small glass and like I said £7.40 shame on you!!!!! Obviously we won’t be coming back it was literally rubbish. I gave two stars and that’s being...
Read moreI took my kids for a meal there What a nice place, the food was next level pub food really nice ! So I'd been raving to my partner how nice it was and how we should take her there. So we did only a few weeks later me and the kids had exactly the same meal as we enjoyed it so much the 1st time and my partner chose a burger, but when the food arrived it was completely different to what we had before very average, chips not the same onion rings were horrible compared to what was served to us previously, burgers were over cooked and resembled dog food So disappointing compared to what we'd had previously! All I can think is it was a different chef? So lovely place great garden just a real lack of consistency with the food you could get an amazing meal or you might not shame really if they could sort that out definitely would be 5 stars. Sorry to leave an average review I don't like doing it but I'd been bigging the place up to my partner and the food was...
