Absolutely awful New Year's Eve service and food. Table was booked for 8.30 we arrived at 8.20 and were totally ignored for the first 5 minutes... then shown to a table in the corner which was not laid up. The staff laid it whilst we squeezed in and sat down. Waited for another 10 minutes before being offered popadoms, then a further 10 minutes before being offered drinks. After an hour we got menus from the table next to us and finally ordered our food. This then took another hour before it arrived. My lamb was Luke warm, the rice acompliment never materialised. My wife had a chicken omelette which had more peas than chicken and come with approx 16 chips I would serve more than this to a child! We have been coming here and having takeaways for many years. We live within a 5-minute walk of another Indian restaurant which is well established and has good reviews but we always go the extra mile and use the India Palace because they are consistently excellent in their food and service. The spraying of cheap toilet air freshener throughout the restaurant I thought was a nice touch 🤔. Stale day old poppadoms refried, as the waiter looked on to see if they would pass off first time. Naan could of passed for a discus replacement! Main was warm and not the best by far. Safe to say I won’t be rushing back. Restaurant needs a good shack up as quality was very poor.
