What an excellent venue! Can't wait to come back!
We were greeted by a car park attendant, who was cheerful and helpful (great as we had never been before + he was able to direct us). The walk to the venue from the carpark was fun and adventurous (I did it in heels, do expect gravel and uneven surfaces). The entrance to the bar / venue area where the loos are was lit up in lights - very cutesy! The entire venue has been carefully thought in regards to design, layout. I loved the contemporary and fun feeling of the toilets, the loo sign being a road sign to "Looe" (the town in Cornwall, great play on words). The Golant railway station set up near the food truck was super and made a great area to wait whilst ordering from the Cornish Maids and then eat before the performances start. They ran out of items on the menu quicky so I would recommend getting in early if you want food. We had nachos and then the last baked cheesecakes.
There are so many great drinks options and as someone who doesn't particularly like beer or lager...their Golantobury lager is my new fav non wine drink! Again love the play on words and design. Can't wait to come back to try their cocktails..really tasteful bar menu and layout.
The owners recently walked for Gaza from Cornwall to Westminster to raise funds...it was nice that they had a QR code up to their just giving that also gives more information and opportunity for people to donate. Not many other venues I have seen are doing this - so well done Bar Silo team! đ«¶đ”đž
The act we came to see was not something we would usually go to..and we are all so glad we came. We had such a great time, it didn't feel overcrowded, the music and their stage presence was soulful and warming. Everything from the small details, such as lighting fire pits for people to sit round to and having an intermission. It is a hidden gem at the top of the wonderful Golant.
Looking forward to the next event!! Not one to miss out on whether you're a local or...
Read moreAye, Bar Silo in Golant be a fine sailorâs hideaway, perched high above the waters like a crowâs nest watchinâ oâer the estuary. The ale be flowinâ as steady as the tide, anâ each pint tastes as though it were blessed by Neptune himself. The crew behind the bar be friendlier than a parrot lookinâ fer crackers, anâ they serve vittles hearty enough to keep a buccaneer sailinâ âtil dawn. If ye be passinâ through Golant, hoist yer sails anâ make for Bar Silo.    Read moreBar Silo is a hidden gem well worth discovering! The venue is simple as the name implies, a grain silo turned into a bar and a barn as a music venue/ dance floor and is an absolutely awesome venue, tucked away in the glorious Cornish countryside near Golant. The staff are always brilliant and help to make any night out there a fantastic event! They have an eclectic and interesting array of guest performers as well as running regular events such as Beats and Burgers nights which are highly recommended and sell out fast! The vibe is always chilled out, relaxed and friendly and is suitable for all ages.
Absolutely would recommend and...
