What a find! The food, hosts and chef (Argentinian and trained with Michelin starred restaurants) were fabulous and great value. Four adults dined last night sharing - the amazing mini haggis balls with whisky sauce and delicious beetroot-marinated salmon starters. The venison stew slowly cooked in Malbec with mash and broccoli was reported as excellent, the crumbed haddock with actual hand cut chunky fries delicious and the local trout for the two ladies was cooked to perfection with the best beurre noisette sauce I’ve ever tasted. Jim and Karen, the owners, made us feel so welcome the Inn itself is very comfortable and beautifully furnished. Our meal was excellent. I am very fussy when out for a meal and I could not fault it. My haggis starter was delicious as was my venison main course, my wife's steak tasted delicious and everyone else's meals were absolutely spot on. Read moreEven though we live 9 miles away from the Struy Inn we always use it as our local, we live in the surrounding area and the scenery is just beautiful. It can be quiet through the week which is nice if your wanting to get away from it all, the weekends the pub really comes alive with the locals, holiday makers and even the Autumn/Winter watch crew, always a good mix of accents.
