Our 1st time here at Merthyr Mawr. Weve wanted to come for a few years and never ended up going. Now we know why. Extremely overpriced, food was ok but nothing special. My local takeways are nicer. We thought there would be alot more circus means as its called street food CIRCUS. Apart from the one guy doing childrens entertainment, there was an aerial frame but no aerial acts. It says at night it comes alive, I can confirm it doesnt. There was no lighting under the seating area which made alot of people feel uneasy. The atmosphere is not great as the area is small and they pack you in like sardines. Dont expect a quick visit if you want to get out of there as the queues are huge due to the same sort of food trucks and only 1 truck actually serving cocktails!! You also have to purchase your own reusable cup. You would think paying to get in, plus paying for parking you would at least get 1 reusable cup each. It was our 1st time, and our last. I would say save your money. Instead build a den out the back garden with a fire pit and lights, order a takeaway and have a much better time. Overcrowded. Overpriced. No entertainment. Not much choice - similar food and drink options, just in different...
Read moreI was very disappointed visiting this place, yes its a beautiful wood and a nice little walk down to it but sadly it was very disappointing, so there is a charge to get in? For what? I was told their was entertainment circus acts live music bubbles for the children marshmallows for roasting and hoola hoops, hoola hoops scattered over the floor covered in mud bubbles from a bubble machine plugged up a tree, no entertainment other than 60 rock n roll played over speakers in the trees and no sticks for marshmallows so we just asked for some marshmallows so we could break some sticks off, we went over to the firepit to find children unsupervised throwing sand at everyone and walking around with fire on large pieces of wood, this was not a good experience at all. We decided to get a cup of tea and a pudding for the kids, the tea was in an espresso cup and brownie and ice cream in a small chip tray it was 2 inch square and a tablespoon of ice cream which came to £11! What an absolute rip off! Never again I...
Read moreWe really enjoyed the forest feastival, the atmosphere was perfect, situated a rough five minutes walk from Candleston car park which has beautiful scenery all round really added to the atmosphere of the evening. It was busy, but not so busy where you couldn’t find a comfortable place to sit and eat your food or grab a drink and relax.
I did find the food quality to be a bit of a hit or miss, I would definitely recommend Mr Noodles as it was absolutely stunning. We had waffles and bread & butter pudding from Pwdin which unfortunately was a bit of a let down, especially for the price. The cocktails were also very limited and not that great but the cider and ale was lovely.
The campfire was lovely and we really enjoyed sitting around there as the evening began to get colder. I would definitely go again as the entry tickets were cheap and most of the food...
