On arrival, the decor and furniture is fresh, clean and very comfortable seating arrangement with plenty of space and privacy in the bench seated areas. Staff were quick to attend to us and take the drinks order quickly followed by food order. I had the business lunch. Started with haggis pakora, popadoms and spiced onion. Pakora dipping sauce had a fantastic colour to it with fantastic flavour and just the right balance of spice for me. For the main I chose lamb kadhi which does cost £1 extra but well worth it in my opinion. The meat was seriously tender and the spices melded brilliantly together. I chose the naan bread (also choice of boiled or fried rice) with it and was not disappointed. A large lovely fresh naan with plenty of crispy parts mixed and bread parts. I used this to wipe up the the last remaining morsels of curry in the serving dish, waste not want not. Spice level was lower to medium but the spice mix was truly magical on the taste buds. I washed this down with a draught Tennents from the bar. To top it all off its then ice cream or coffee. I chose the ice cream with raspberry sauce ( choc also available). Great way to finish off what i would rate as a 9 out of 10 meal at a fantastic price. All other members of the lunch party were fully appreciative of the quality of the meals also which included a brilliant peshwari naan too. Price for 4 with drinks was around £60 for the lunch. Well worth the effort of a 20 minute drive and will be back soon. Give it a try , you wont be...
Read morePopped in here for lunch on 3rd December and was blown away with the food. Both taste and portion sizes were excellent for the £8.95 3 course lunch (btw 12-3) My wife and I shared chicken pakora, poppadoms and spiced onions for starters. Everything was fresh and very tasty. I had South Indian garlic chilli chicken (best I've ever eaten) with rice, whilst the missus had chicken tikka which smelled and tasted fantastic too. We ordered crispy nan and chips to go with it. Everything came out hot and was delicious. I had ice cream for dessert whilst my wife settled for a coffee. We had a coke each and the bill came to less than £23. Great value for the delicious food we were just served. Staff were very nice without being too intrusive. Also place was toasty warm and comfortable to sit and eat in. The overall experience will definitely bring us back, where I'll probably try the pre theatre or night menu. Hopefully this standard gets kept up. If it does then this little gem (above the Tudor Inn) will be...
Read morePicked up a carry out here about an hour ago ordered the meal for 1 @ £14.95 and 1 chilli naan i should have saved myself £3.95 as it was not home made I've been eating curries for 50 years now and this was an insult it was as if it was purchased from a supermarket as the shape was too uniform to be made in the restaurant going by the photos of the naans on site they were totally different from what I received. UPDATE. This establishment quite clearly does not care about its customers as no reply to my review as I said earlier I will give a tip keep your money and GO ELSEWHERE I dont know where their reviews are coming from...
