I have visited the Larch garden centre befor but never been in the Casa Verde. So today was my Birthday and along with my friend we travelled the 100 miles yes 100 miles. So after reading a lot of the reviews it was mixed feeling as to wether to travel the distance, but i like to make my own judgement so off we set. Oh and while i remember it is Saturday morning i made a phone call to see if i could book a table, a polite young women answered the phone and a table was booked for 12.30noon, for this day. When arrving at Melkinthorpe we parked easily and went to the restaurant, we were greeted very warmly by a young women and shown to our table, it is now 12.20pm. We were given menus to which we chose home made Lemonade, The Thia cakes and a thia salad, the fungi brussetta with feta. Our meal arrived roughly 12.50pm. Served again by the polite young women. We sat at a table on the balcony over looking the fish ponds and some of the garden. The food when arrived was well presented and absolutely very enjoyable, the Thia cakes were very tasty. ( they were mine, however we shared both of the dishes). Then we orded two desserts and two latte's, which were probaly 10- 15 mins, but no problem at all. So i have to say the overall experience was delightful, the peace of the place, other diners conversing, people laughing. Beautiful surroundings and very hard working attentive staff. By the time we left the restaurant it was quite busy, so please don't go if you are in a hurry, go sit down forget about your watch enjoy a very tasty meal and a relaxed atmosphere. I thank you most kindly, from Kitchen staff to waiter/ waitresses. Although we do live quite a way from you we will return. It made my Birthday and my very Hetic life stop if only for the time i sat it was very much needed. I applaud you all. Thank you 🥰 Forgot to mention the male Blackbird that visited and yes i gave him...

A very unusual setting with a quaint and characterful building set among gardens which are part of the larch cottage nursery. The staff were very friendly and quick to serve us. Although much of the food looked great unfortunately the dish I chose was a bit underwhelming. I ordered a four cheese pizza however it tasted more like a margarita with not enough cheese. Wished I had picked one of the slightly pricier but tasty specials...

Had afternoon tea here, was a lovely place, great service and nice food. Only problem was there was only one very small pot of tea included which seems a bit stingy when the cost is £23 and is the only afternoon tea I've had where it hasn't been unlimited tea and coffee. Would recommend changing this as otherwise...

One of the best places for lunch in the UK by far! Great mains and cakes, lovely atmosphere and sitting outside makes you feel on a dream holiday in a tiny town in Italy. Will plan my next holiday to the UK so that i pass here again. If the staff reads this; Thank you! And keep doing what you're doing!
