I've spent nearly £300 here this 2nd week in March, today the 15th I went in to buy more stuff ,I bought 3 bags of compost same bags as I bought earlier in the week as it has a sign directly above them 3 for £10 ,when I hot to check out I discovered that they were costing more than £17 ,i questioned price ,with heavy made staff member with glasses at check out she said in my opinion cheekly that's not the ones in the deal I asked which ones are the deal she said it's clearly marked ,and still after asking 4 times what's the name of the ones on the deal ,she said go look it's clearly marked ,so I went and hD a look and found that they dont have any none at all for 3 for £10 ,I said you dont have any and your signs are very misleading she said I know ,so do you or dont you want them ,I said no ,Nd later checked my receipts from earlier in the week to realise I paid more than £34 for compost which I believed was £20 , i can tell you i will never be back ,and that means never and i recommend no one else does to its exploiting pensioners in my opinion and as for this member of staff I'd never have her work for me ,the man who works there was much better but i...

Just made our very last visit to this once nice cafe having been occasional customers for a few years now doing a 25 mile round trip to this place for our occasional wee breakfast treat in the countryside. Although the table service was still ok,sadly the cooking has went downhill recently-possibly a different chef and the menu has changed slightly. We were served burnt fried eggs and bacon and cremated toast-it was like charcoal !! I’m surprised the smoke alarm hadn’t gone off when it was served. The cafe was really quiet when we were in so it’s not like staff were being rushed as that might have been acceptable. Not wishing to cause a scene we just ate up and left disgruntled wondering what’s went wrong in here. Nothing is cheap anymore and customers have even higher expectations of better quality and service and, like us now WILL vote with their wallets and won’t be back. In future we’ll just be sticking to the excellent garden centre we visit in Clyde Valley which despite a much longer drive from our house always delivers on quality...

Oakwood is in a country setting and the restaurant has phenomenal views over sheep-filled fields and rolling hills. The staff are terrific service-wise and willingly share a laugh. They have a fairly wide range of food which is all of a good standard, and not expensive. At the till point sits a glass refrigerated unit stuffed full of fantastic-looking cakes ranging from staples such as victoria sponge and scones to the sensational carmel apple granny and pineapple tarts. This display of hedonistic pleasure has a hypnotising effect on me similar to Mowgli's encounter with Kaa in Jungle Book. Being a garden centre Oakwood, has abundant plants everywhere including the outside seating area of the restaurant. In summer sitting out there is sublime, and enhanced further if you're a nature lover as various raptor types and deer can be spotted. Well...

There is a coffee shop. I ordered a strong pot of tea, the girl puts in one tea bag and fills it to the top with water. Weak tea. Ordered a bacon and egg roll with the egg solid hard. It arrives and is completely soft. Then ordered a Cafe Latte and it must be the most disgusting Cafe Latte I have ever tasted. Simple things that you would not expect them to get so wrong, but they did.

Scones and tea with the light fluffy Scottish cream was a great break. This little cafe is hidden inside the Oakwood Garden Center with a quiet beautiful view overlooking the sheep and green. Scones were average, a tiny bit dry but overall well seated place with great ambience. Helpers were helpful and polite.

We went for lunch on a Sunday and sat outside with my favourite view of the Dumgoyne.. Food was lovely and nicely presented. Tables were socially distanced and hand sanitiser provided at entrance to cafe.. Will definately return..
