Fine dining at its best. Went for lunch with friends. 10 intricate and well thought out courses and 3.5 hours of great conversation. The food is exquisite. I understand that the menu changes daily along with their wine recommendations per course. The food is locally sourced with the vegetables coming fresh from nearby Netherby Hall walled garden. They have their own Sommelier to to talk you through the wine choices. We took our time and drinks were flowing. The bill was approx ÂŁ140 per head, which sounds a lot but when you break it all down was good value for money. Service was excellent and attentive. The building it self is a modern take on a classic gastro pub. Beautifully decorated with high end finishing. Ample parking, beer garden and free WiFi for all guests (which youâll need). The views from the conservatory are lovely looking out over the Cumbrian countryside. We didnât stay the night but did manage a sneaky peak at the accommodation. All high end modern furnishing and fittings and the beds looked very inviting after the 10 course lunch!! Would...
Read moreMy Partner and I spent two nights and had two meals at the Pentonbridge Inn as a treat to celebrate my significant Birthday. We have eaten at several Michelin starred Restaurants over the years and the Pentonbridge was either on a par or better than every one of them (surprisingly it does not currently have a Michelin Star). The kitchen worked like a well oiled machine and special mention must go the the crab, the beef tartare, the deer and the most amazing chocolate mousse that I have ever tasted - so good in fact that I had it on both nights. The wine pairings with the food were amazing and well thought out. The Inn is small and situated in a lovely quiet spot close to the Scottish Border, which for us was perfect. The staff were extremely friendly, knowledgeable and nothing was too much trouble for them. Special mention to Ross, Ellis and Alex who looked after us in the Restaurant and the lovely Kirsten on Reception. Thank you all very much for making our stay so lovely, we hope to come and stay again in the not too...
Read moreOur stay at the Pentonbridge Inn was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment we arrived, the service was warm, welcoming, and genuinely attentive. The inn itself is beautifully appointedâelegant yet cosy, with thoughtful touches that made us feel right at home.
The highlight, of course, was the Michelin-starred dining experience. Every course was a masterpiece, perfectly balancing creativity and flavour with the finest local ingredients. The wine pairings were expertly chosen and elevated each dish even further. Breakfast the next morning continued to impress, with fresh, high-quality offerings that were absolutely delicious. That granola OMG.
We left feeling completely looked after and already planning our next visit. Pentonbridge Inn is a true gem, combining luxury, comfort, and world-class cuisine. Highly...
