Sammy's Indian Grill Restaurant and bar — Restaurant in Great Britain

Just collected our 1st takeaway from this establishment after waiting 45 min to collect and being recommended by my daughter who said it was fab, fresh cooked food/salad/pakora etc. Well I'm sorry to say I was not impressed, the chicken tikka was quite dry and pretty much tasteless as was the veg pakora. The "salad" consisted of a small round plastic bowl with some lettuce leaves (no tomato) and a slice of lemon both of which were obviously dryed out. Both went in the bin. Altogether not enjoyable in the least ( especially costing over £18), and unless the owners can do better than this I do not see me returning. First order. Delivery was 40mins late and incomplete (forgot Naan bread! Aargh). I phoned to complain and couldn’t get too upset. Firstly Sammy was v apologetic and promised to make up. Secondly and most importantly, the food. Of course my mum makes the best curry’s…but this was really good. Great flavours. Will definitely return even if I have to pick up myself! In fairness it was peak time sat evening. However communicating the delay would have been good. Update 19/12/21 Placed another order. Perfect service and order. The Hollytree/Sammy’s Indian Grill is unforgettable! We visited Scotland for two weeks and this dinner was probably our most memorable. This restaurant was a recommendation by our Airbnb host. Sammy was an outstanding host and a real pleasure to visit with. I’ve only had Indian cuisine a few times and had never had that great of an experience with it.
