Scotch Lodge Farm Shop — Restaurant in Great Britain

This place is very small with around 4-5 tables (you will usually find at least 2 tables out of service due to them being covered in random 'stuff' - balls of wool, bits of wood and other bits and bobs. Lovely staff, with a limited menu; sandwiches, jacket potatoes, things on toast and the like - not bad for a quick, basic lunch. This place is never busy yet the wait for food and drinks is always excessive. There always seems to be effort made to get things right, but too many times the food has been wrong or cold or something not quite right. It shouldn't be difficult to get the most simple of foods correct - especially when there's either a few or no other customers. We, as a family, have given this place so many chances, as we like to support independent businesses, but time after time the experience is so disappointing. Hidden gem in Earls Barton Northamptonshire, great food(had the breakfast) eggs straight from the hens that you can see happily pecking around on the quaint orchard just outside from the cafe, if you are lucky you may see the turkey who likes to pop up near the window. Good quality plants for sale with a huge choice of herbs. Some unique gifts and clothing, farm shop offers a good choice of ready made meals,meats, bread etc.. It really has it all. Add to that the brilliant events that happen here which are a joy to attend.. Craft fayres, open mic afternoons and much more...can't praise Scotch...

Went to the Scotch Lodge Farm Shop to get a Take away lunch for the first time. I ordered a croque monsieur and was happy to wait 20mins thinking that the food what made fresh to order.

Once I received my croque monsieur, the appearance was great, but after taking one bite the middle of it was still cold and frozen. This makes me think that they don't prepare food fresh, and most of the sandwich was bread with barely any filling. The best bit of the order was the salad.

I felt it was overpriced for what it was, and won't be ordering again. However a lovely location and...
