We were really looking forward to visiting this pub, especially given its reputation for being a quirky and unique spot. Unfortunately, our experience was anything but inviting, and we ended up leaving before even ordering food or drinks. From the moment we stepped inside, the atmosphere was cold and unwelcoming. The woman behind the bar - presumably the owner - was extremely standoffish and visibly miserable. When we enquired about food, we were told it was “still on,” but she didn’t know if she could serve us. Naturally, we asked why, and were met with a vague response about a recent influx of people and that the wait time would be “over an hour,” though she couldn’t say for certain. It was abundantly clear from her tone and body language that we weren’t particularly welcome, though we couldn’t understand why. We’re locals and had heard good things about the place, but the treatment we received made us feel like we were an inconvenience just for walking in. We appreciate that places get busy and waits can be long - but a bit of politeness and clarity goes a long way. Instead, the vibe was entirely off, and we felt it best not to give our custom there. If being “unique” includes being rude to potential customers, especially locals, then it’s not the kind of place we’d recommend....

Wring this on my girlfriend's account as she has signal, really disappointed with our experience here on Friday 22nd August, if I could rate lower than 1 star I would, been coming here since I was a kid, always remembered it being a happy and vibrant pub and wanted to introduce my girlfriend to the place. We called in at 6:30pm to have a pint and something to eat, when we asked the bar if they could seat us for food, the young lad behind the bar said they're quite busy but that they should be able to seat us around 8pm, but then the miserable lady behind the bar who appeared to be the one running the place said no without ever giving a reason or even looking us in the eye! When we looked around the pub no-one was eating and there were plenty empty tables, pub was basically dead, we could completely understand if it had been busy but even still a few manners, an apology and a customer service smile would have gone a long way. To make matters worse when we were sat in the car researching for somewhere else to eat, the lady had sent the two servers home! Disgusting customer service all around and gutted to think this is how the community pub...

Disappointing. Booked this place for Sunday dinner after reading about it online. Really weird atmosphere when you walk in, no music, no conversation. Locals in there suddenly started to speak Welsh as soon as they heard we were English (despite hearing them speak English when we initially walked in) this made us feel quite uncomfortable and as though a point was being made. Despite being advertised as dog friendly on their website i wouldnt say it is. There are signs everywhere about where dogs can’t go, dog fouling etc. When they realised we had our dog with us our table was moved from the cosy looking restaurant to the dog house-literally. A strange cubby hole with Saw dust on the floor, underneath the dart board and wide screen TV. The food was poor, the pork was undercooked and the vegetables over boiled. We had our dinner and drinks in less than an hour and didn’t bother to stay for another as felt so uncomfortable. I’m sure there are better, more welcoming places in the area and wish we had gone...

My wife recommended the place as she went there many moons ago. Family run, very rustic inside. Wonderful atmosphere with a huge wall of photos that despite me not knowing any context behind these they still managed to convey a deep rich history in regards to the pub. The food was glorious, despite ordering way too much we dug in with gusto. Neither of us could finish our food but not without trying our hardest. If you are ever in the area, be it holidaying or simply out for the day and need somewhere to relax and eat while also walking through the thick sawdust floor then you can't go far wrong than the Tafarn Sinc. Diolch yn fawr!

If you’re looking for quirky look no further. What a gem of a pub overlooking the Welsh countryside. Railway and local memorabilia adorn the walls and ceilings, and the station set up outside just adds to its charm! Now owned and run by the community; hats off to them all for saving this lovely pub! Plenty of outside seating. We had the fish and chips (£14 + £3 for chips)and the basket meal of cod bites and chips (£8.50) The classics menu doesn’t come served with chips - you have to pay for them separately. Food was cooked fresh and was delicious. Would highly recommend.

Lots of character, beautiful area but that’s where it ends. We turned up hoping to have a nice meal and a drink, the lady who served us made no effort to make us feel welcome and when we asked if they was still serving food it was though we was asking too much. The food we had was as bland as could be…but then they only offered us scampi, cod, chicken nuggets and chips. Would I go there again, definitely yes but after the quality of food we were served I would think twice before eating there again.
