Just came back from the most amazing three night stay at The Bosk. It ended up being the most memorable weekend of my life as my partner of 16 years asked me to marry him by the lake.

STAFF: I have to say a special thank you to all the staff at The Bosk that went above and beyond in making it so magical. Jess helped my fiancƩ coordinate an amazing proposal. I came back to a fully decorated room with mood lighting and music playing. To top it off they asked my favourite desert and chef Mat had made it specially. (Tiramisu....To die for). Tony and Imogen were also great and treated us so well. It was also lovely to meet Peter on the last day and thank him for such a great time.

ACCOMMODATION: We stayed in the "bilberry" room. The bed was so comfortable and all furnishings were top quality. The bath and shower room is added luxury. You get given robes and can use the pool, a lovely hot tub, steam room and sauna. There is also a gym that we didn't use.

ACTIVITIES: We visited while it was quite cold but there is lots of outdoor activities and cant wait to come back with our children. We took lots of walks and even managed to get up east hill in front of the Bosk. We spent an evening playing pool, air hockey and fooseball and another night playing board games and listening to music.

FOOD: We had breakfast every morning included which came with fresh fruit , juices, coffee and a yogurt compote plus something from their menu (full English, eggs Benedict etc). We are still drooling over the black pudding. The quality of produce is very apparent in all their food. We also had pizza on pizza night....they make it fresh and cook it on a real pizza oven outside! On another night we had the normal menu and once again was wowed by the food.

This place really has thought of it all and are on hand for anything you need. This place is truly a gem. We can wait to come back with the kids and stay in one of the cottages.

Thank you all so...

Just had my retirement birthday at the Bosk, Could not recommend it enough, From the moment we checked in until the moment we left we all had first class service and food, What a little gem this place is, We had two nights stay with my brother and sister in law, We had the most beautiful room The Bilbury which had a huge room with everything on hand, including the most amazing chocolate brownie (wow) which I have no doubt was made by the excellent chefs in house. A great add on was our very own I pad which told us all we needed to know. The bathroom was second to none with a mid placed roll top bath, the bathroom was huge with shower and double basins even right down to a make up flannel. Fantastic. We ate in the restaurant and the food was superb, I sometimes think because the chefs are in the kitchen they get forgotten about but you boys presented some stunning food šŸ‘ŒšŸ½šŸ‘šŸ‘ Breakfast was just the best and topped off by Tony who could,nt do enough for us rembering what we had the morning before and brought it to the table without having to ask…well done Tony your an asset to the Bosk šŸ‘šŸ‘ A long review but we’ll worth it we could not be happier and will definitely returning, All the staff were happy and obliging, the manager was very professional and knew her job very very well, Thankyou to you all for making my birthday a very special time for us all, We will be back as soon as we can get booked in to this very popular...

AVOID!!!!

I booked a table for 5 people on Friday 19th August - I was given a time of 5.30 only - when we arrived, we were the only people in the restaurant.

We were given a table in direct sunlight where we couldn’t see - so asked to be moved - the waiter seemed apathetic at best.

We were given the menus and were told it was pizza only - which was fine. I told the waiter that 2 of us were gluten intolerant and he went off to the kitchen. When he returned, he informed me they couldn’t cater for us because ā€˜you didn’t tell us in advance you were gluten Intolerant’. I was gobsmacked - not only could they not feed us - but I was blamed for not letting them know!! It’s 2022 - everywhere caters for food allergies.

Nowhere on the booking or site does it say you have to declare allergies ahead of booking.

I assume it was the manager sat at the back glancing over - she made no attempt to come and discuss what could be done for us - she just looked over and carried on. It honestly felt as though nobody in the place could be bothered.

So - we had to leave - no alternative food suggested and zero customer service.

Honestly - the worst experience I’ve ever had in a...

I had the pleasure of dining at The Bosk and was thoroughly impressed by the quality of both the food and service. Our meal began with a scotch egg and deep-fried squid, both of which were expertly prepared and beautifully presented. For the main course, we enjoyed the roast lamb accompanied by all the traditional trimmings—a perfectly balanced and satisfying dish. To conclude, we shared a strawberry cheesecake and an apple crumble, both desserts delivering rich flavours and a comforting finish to the meal. The staff were exceptionally professional and attentive, contributing greatly to the experience, and the ambiance of the restaurant was warm, elegant, and inviting. I would highly recommend The Bosk to anyone seeking a refined and memorable experience.
