We visited here yesterday for afternoon tea to celebrate our anniversary. The staff and food was delicious. We had the sparkling menu substituted with mock tails, and you can substitute meat sandwiches with veggie or vegan ones. As we are gala we had the salmon and egg sandwiches but replaced the chicken with veggie option. It’s quite easy to do so. Reasonably priced and we even left with a take away box with some of our puddings as it was quite filling. The tea is bottomless so you can try a few if you want. Only thing that was a bit unclear was what is in what tea. We had to ask staff and for some of them she had to go and check. Which we felt bad for. So it may be useful to just add what flavours are each tea on the menu. But otherwise really good and would definitely visit again. You can also walk around the grounds and gardens which are amazing and definitely recommend. The gardens are well kept with flowers blooming, birds chirping and so many bees and butterflies to spot. We also saw the bee farm on the grounds. And the parking is free and easy too. We will be visiting...
Read moreBetter than Noma! Chef Niall Keating and his team serve the most incredible menu you can find anywhere in the world. Innovative and imaginative but still satisfying and delicious. No expense or detail is spared in the preparation of the tasting menu and the team's pursuit of culinary and dining excellence. Meeting the Chef in his gleaming spotless kitchen is an experience not to be missed. And what can I say about the menu itself. The grilled king crab custard with caviar, the wagyu beef cooked to perfection, the salmon with iberico ham and aloe vera and a beurre blanc sauce are all stunning! Chef Niall has brought such a youthful refresh to country cooking. And shout out to the General Manager, Sue who takes time out from her evening to personally chat with each dinner guest. She is quite a visionary to hire such an amazing Chef and bring him and his group of chefs and servers to the finest hotel/Inn in...
Read moreI took my father and step-mum to Whatley manor, I was a bit worried as they don't always want a tasting menu. I needn't have worried they were both blown away.
The food far exceeded my expectations and easily 🌟🌟 level. Between us we tried the standard and vegetarian menus and both the cheese dishes. Everything was fantastic although my wife wasn't sure about the cheese courses, no qualms from me though. Everyone at the table had a different highlight but it was difficult to choose among so many great dishes.
The wine flight was really interesting with some delicious and some challenging choices. I enjoyed all of them except the red dessert wine we had with the cheese. It tasted like chocolate port which wasn't to my taste but my wife enjoyed it and polished my glass off happily.
I would recommend the Korean / Japanese inspired food to anyone. More accolades...
