Visited this cafe a few times and it's always been OK, but the true test of a business is how they handle it when something goes wrong. This should be zero stars. Four of us went for lunch to celebrate a birthday, two of the party are vegetarian. They opted for sun-dried tomato and cheese quiche from the selection of quiches, as written on the blackboard. When ordering at the till, the item did not appear in the electronic list, so the staff member asked someone to add it, so that she could click it. We told her that so long as it was vegetarian it would be fine. When the food arrived, it was not vegetarian and clearly contained meat. We asked a young and very polite waiter what could be done. He said "I'll get the manager". She arrived and was immediately defensive, saying that the chosen quiche was not a veggie choice. It was pointed out to her on the board. "No, no" she said "the quiche is venison with sun-dried tomato and cheese." However, she did eventually accept that it had been written incorrectly. We were offered an alternative, which was cheaper than the quiche, no refund offered. Never mind, we thought, it doesn't matter. We then went back to the counter to order desserts. One of which was a scone with jam and cream. When it arrived, there was no cream. We asked the waiter for the cream. When he came back to us, without cream, he told us that cream is extra and we have to pay more. We were incredulous, having specifically asked for cream. Probably we shouldn't have paid the extra 50p but no one wanted to spoil the birthday lunch. Appalling customer service. So bad you...

Nice food, terrible management.

My first review ever on google but just had to say something.

Food and drink is very nice but the staff and passive aggressive signage leave a sour taste in the mouth. Having been here twice now, both times the staff were extremely unfriendly and unaccommodating. For example, we were a group of six and asked if we can push tables together, and we were told in no uncertain terms NO, so we had to split our group. And on another occasion having bough a lot of food we were asked to vacate the table whilst still finishing off our coffee. This can only be caused by very poor management making the staff have such a bad attitude.

Lastly… the very unfriendly and EXTENSIVE dog policy talks down to you, for example they say tails can be a trip hazard so keep them under the table at all times, it all reads as if they don’t want dogs, but have to have them. And no more than 2 dogs in the cafe. I saw three in there, just saying. What about wondering wild kids who came up to the table whilst we were eating, I guess that’s okay!

I’d avoid this place and won’t be spending our money here again, very unpleasant...

Although we had purchased products from this company before we had never visited their visitor centre. Being on holiday in the area we decided to go. We had lunch on arrival. It was busy, full but for one table, and staff were coping pleasantly and swiftly with service. We sat in a window seat. It was a driech day when we came so Ben Nevis wasn't visible but on a clear day views would be excellent. We had a special, the venison, black pudding and juniper berry stew - delicious. Wife had a mac and cheese, not so good as the excellent one we had in the Oban Fish Bar recently, daughter had cajun tofu with mango chutney toasted sandwich although she said it didn't taste very much of cajun. Fabulous coffees very nicely presented and billionaires shortbread was divine. Afterwards we shopped. Great range and choice as well as a well selected selection of gifts. We were tempted in every department. The toilets deserve a special mention. Spotless and very well appointed. We'll done. A credit to you and a positive experience for overseas visitors who much whither at some toilets in this country. Easy parking. Thoroughly recommended...

Myself and my family absolutely loved the soap workshop. Our host, 'Teeny' was amazing. She was incredibly helpful, supportive, informative, patient, knowledgeable, an incredibly bubbly kind lady who made the experience even more enjoyable. During our break, we went to the cafe for our complimentary hot drink, which were lovely and beautifully presented. We decided to have some lunch and cakes, all of which tasted amazing. After our break we went back to the workshop to package our soaps, again, Teeny was incredibly helpful and she took the time to help my daughter with wrapping her soaps. I would 100% recommend this workshop and if you are fortunate to have Teeny as your host (although I'm sure all the staff who do the workshops are lovely) then you are in for a lovely experience. A great morning had by all. Thank you for the amazing experience.

We did the Soap Making Workshop and we had such a lovely time. My husband and I have done the class before, but we brought my Mum along for her first go. We were with Teeny again who is a wonderful host - she is incredibly helpful and knowledgeable and honestly it’s like being with an old friend. The cost at £30pp is great value for money and it’s a couple of hours of fun! You get to learn to make glycerin soaps and there is a tea break in the middle while your soaps set. The scents are wonderful and the soaps make great gifts as well. This time we’re keeping them all ☺️ We will be back again in October to make some more soaps! Highly recommend this workshop to everyone. The store itself has a great range of products and the cafe does some great food. I’m coeliac and there were good options for me to have. All round a wonderful place to visit!
