Went to the Horns for some food to be told that the kitchen was closed this was at 7.53pm on a Friday night. When I questioned this I was told that they always close the kitchen at 8pm on a Friday and Saturday night. Bearing in mind that I asked at 7 minutes to 8pm surely they could have served us if we had ordered quickly? The pub was a mess, dirty plates and glasses everywhere, filthy tables and the outside area strewn with rubbish! In hindsight we probably dodged a bullet!

Great pub we stopped at on a bank Holiday Monday on our way back to London from a weekend in Dorset, they had a great singer on in the massive beer garden to keep us entertained while we had a refreshing drink and a bite to eat, the locals seemed friendly too, also dog friendly

Friendly pub in peaceful location. Food was wonderful with large portions and plenty of vegetarian options. Nice selection of non-alcoholic drinks too.

Basically our Saturday went as follows: served food and drinks no issues to start waited to ask for more drinks for atleast 30 minutes and when no one asked my partner went up to the door and said he would like to order drinks. He was told to sit back down and a member of staff would come and take an order. 40 minutes passed and still no one came. my partner decided to go back and complain as well as pay he spoke to a staff member and said he was unhappy about the service. she disappeared in to a room and loudly criticised my partner and said he’s complaining because of the service etc criticising him in front of him when she came back he said “I could hear you criticising me to everyone just then” to which she replied “ If you don’t like it here you can go elsewhere” which we did. It gets worse! I then emailed the manager abs her response basically justified the girl and implied my partner had been rude which he hadn’t. Using covid as an excuse for poor service. I absolutely agree we are all learning to adapt . The service can be excused BUT there is no excuse to be spoken to disrespectfully and provided with 0 customer service. And then not get an apology!!! Many more nice pubs in wimborne so this one isn’t a loss...

My partner and I happened by this pub after a morning in Wimborne expecting to having a lovely lunch. Instead we were greeted by an extremely rude bar maid demanding whether we had booked a table and tutting obnoxiously. After surveying an empty dining room, I proposed that if they were too busy we would go elsewhere. She then hurriedly sat us down, not before mentioning we must be out by 2pm as the table was booked. Suffice to say that was all it took for us to take the hint and we left, not without her quickly realising how utterly rude and dismissive she was and hastily back tracking, trying to keep us in. All I can say is that I will never be returning; the shabby interior, 'locals-only' atmosphere and brash, cretinous attitude of the staff has succeeded in keeping potential customers away. I'm surprised...

We had tried a few times to come for lunch due to the big outside area for kids to run around. Twice we turned up and the kitchen was shut, so this time we called ahead. The bar maid was not very welcoming, making us feel like an inconvenience. It was fairly quiet, a few locals but not many people eating inside. Two of our meals were lovely, portions very big. However, the 3rd meal had a very long hair mixed in with the omelette, we sent it back, and when it came back out, there was a small dog hair visible on the plate, and the omelette was raw and runny on the inside. It was a very disappointing visit and we will not be returning in the future. Such a shame as it has a lovely garden, just poor hospitality skills. Unless you’re a...
