[Invite] If you’re after a lovely Sunday dinner then head to @The Punch Bowl, Craghead It’s great value for £12 and the portion is generous 🍴 I had the Turkey and my mam had the beef, both meats were tender and delicious 🤤 We had some pigs in blankets and there was plenty veg as well. The gravy was nice and thick which makes a Sunday dinner for me 💫 It’s always a nice cosy atmosphere here, I can’t wait to go back 👏🏼 ~ #fatbottomfoodie #invite #foodie #sundaydinner #durhamfoodies #northeastfoodie #foodblogger #sundaydinnerinspo #foodcontent #contentcreation #contentcreator #foodlover #tiktokfoodie #foodtok #tiktokfoods

We booked an overnight stay as we were visiting Beamish Museum, and wanted to spread our visit over 2 days. We arrived at the pub at about 5.30ish, to find a very busy staff at the bar. We were conducted up a set of stairs, given a key and pointed in the direction of our room. Double room. One chair, one desk masquerading as a bedside table. No bedside table on the other side. We went down for a meal at 7.30 , to find that the kitchen closed at 7.00. The staff could only recommend the local kebab shop. Not knowing the area, we weren't feeling intrepid enough to go exploring, so it had to do. Following the end of the footbal, the bar below us errupted into disco music so loud that it made the furniture vibrate. They'd warned that there would some music in the bar, but this was ridiculously loud, and finally ended at 12.30am. After some sleep, we presented ourselves downstairs for breakfast. They only do breakfast on Friday, this was Thursday... We thought we'd booked breakfast, and had paid for it. After speaking to a very apologetic cleaner, we left. Suggestions. Put a welcome sheet in each room with meal availability and times on it, with suggestions for where to find other eateries locally. Make sure that your website is up to date. Double means two. Two seats, two small tables or shelves please. Limit the volume and time of music in the bar under the rooms. We felt that it would be unwise to go down and complain, as there didn't appear to be many staff on duty. Refresh the tired decor...

Booked a family room at The Punch Bowl and we turned up at 6.45om after a long day of travelling and enjoying Beamish. First impression was overflowing bins in car park..nice touch.|We went in the music was so loud you could barely be heard, the member of staff showed us upstairs which smelt of stale smoke(probably needs a paint) and our room was situated directly over the bar. I asked the girl what time they closed and she said midnight.|We stood in the room and the music was so loud and then all the customers down there were shouting over each other.|We tried to drown out the sound with the TV and noticed there was a broken one behind but when we put tv on it just played radio..they love music at this place!! |The mattresses were so thin you could feel the bed bases, we had to drag one of the mattresses off the top bunk to make my daughters bed a bit more comfortable..didn't help.|We've stayed in plenty of pubs before that have annexes or soundproof rooms, this place has neither and also why you would put a family room directly above a noisy bar is beyond me.|So gist of it is we left after 20 minutes and rebooked somewhere else.|Getting a refund was impossible as the management do not respond in any way.|Would not recommend this place at all unless you're a loud music loving insomniac without a care in the world...
