I went to this area for weeks break the pub was a 5 minute walk we arrived on the Friday afternoon. We walked down and had a couple of drinks outside the tables always seemed tobe reserved with no one sitting at them. We asked if we could order some food and was told they were fully booked not sure how that works as we continued to be served drink but couldn't have food. The first time we could be booked in for dinner was the Monday and the Wednesday. I was told to go to the office to book in for dinner I did this and the female made me feel very unwelcome and that she couldn't be bothered with me. I came away feeling abit shocked with her behaviour. We arrived on the Monday night and there was no table for us even though I had conformation for both dinner bookings. So we were put out in a courtyard were I feel we were forgotten about at times it started to rain and the wind started to get up abit as soon as I finished I wanted to leave it was damp and cold.i said to the staff I was not very pleased about were we were put to have our dinner. They apologise and said they have put me in for dinner on Wednesday night for dinner so I'm guess the female in the office didn't do her job right. Food was lovely on Monday night on Wednesday I ordered a prawn cocktail it was bland I told a staff member it was not nice her reply was your not having much luck in here are you I asked if they were under staffed she said yes I would suggest the management team have a long hard look at this problem because if they don't people will start to go elsewhere...
Read moreMeikleour Arms, a fabulous place we found. The staff are so friendly and helpful. They really go the the whole nine yards to make sure that everything about your stay is perfect. Very well done to them all! The food is also excellent with good choices, and the restaurant staff are experts at timing their delivery to your table and the removal of everything when you finish each course. We had our terrier with us and she was welcome. The room was compact but very stylish and on the ground floor. Much nicer than the modern style of hotel which are just functional boxes for you to sleep in. Of course we had the usual equipment that is expected these days, en suite bathroom with shower, tea and coffee making facilities, flat screen TV, and, one very nice touch was the small crystal decanter containing sherry with two sherry glasses for us to enjoy, on the house! Lovely touch. The Inn itself is built in the traditional style of the surrounding area. The village of Meikleour is small but very tidy and full of beautiful cottages and houses. There are some nice walks on quiet lanes for the dog and you find yourself in the lovely Perthshire countryside as soon as you step outside the door. Salmon fishing on the river Tay is also available from the Inn. Blairgowrie is ten minutes drive and Couper...

It is a short drive from Perth, Dunkeld and Blairgowrie, an area internationally renowned for its spectacular woodlands and great salmon fishing. The premises has 5 luxurious family cottages and 11 bedrooms. Our ground floor dog-friendly bedroom had a wonderful super-sized four-poster bed, plus beautiful and spacious modern bathroom, with walk-in shower as well as a bath. The award winning restaurant features ingredients sourced from their estate and kitchen garden, including the venison, which was lovely. There was also a lovely selection of vegetarian options available and dogs are permitted in dedicated areas of the dining room. We stayed in early November 2021 and really enjoyed our visit:, we had a beautiful room, enjoyed lovely food and all the staff were friendly and made a fuss of our Labrador, who was a little anxious about being...
