Been going here over many years and always had a good meal, until we went today under new management, the food was very substandard, not worth the money, also after complaining about the fish and the state of the batter, not being cooked through, tasted like mushy dough,we then had to endure the chef and other members of staff, quite obviously talking about our complaint, received no apology on paying the bill, only told rather abruptly that the fish had been removed from the bill,by which I presume was the restaurant manager, very disappointed in the food and the service, definitely won't recommend or be back

Not been in a few years, and I have to say I was a bit disappointed. Firstly the server was not friendly or chatty. Very short and gave over the impression that they didn't want to be there. I ordered the Mac n cheese burger. Which looked disappointing. A Brioche bun with some salad on the bottom then a burger, with a spoon of runny Macaroni on top. Not sure what I expected but it wasn't that. My wife's dish (sausage and mash). Looked better presented. The food was fine but fairly ordinary. On a more positive note compared to the competition, the prices were very reasonable.

The food was excellent. The staff were brilliant. The prices are great. The selection is wonderful. And the atmosphere was perfect. 5 reasons for 5 stars. We were passing through and found this off the beaten track (so to speak). What a little hidden gem it really is! You can see the locals who know each other, chatting or waving as they pass, yet you'll feel right at home in this friendly establishment. I'll definitely be back with my family whenever I'm next in Falkirk. A faultless experience. Thanks again for a lovely visit!

3rd time eating here since it has been taken over and can safely say we won't be back. It has gotten worse each and everytime we have been. Tonight my son and I visited and I ordered chicken Nachos- no jalapeños. The order came out out jalapeños on (no problem - mistakes to happen) lovely waitress couldn't have been more apologetic took it back to the kitchen and returned with "another portion" that was intact not another portion but the same portion that they had just tried to pick the jalapeños out of bit obviously didn't realise half of them were still under one half of the Nachos. Said to the waitress who again could not have been any nicer and then to be returned with the most horrific looking portion of Nachos- a scraping of cheese shredded chicken most of which was grey and tiny portion of sour cream guacamole & salsa all separate (completely different to the first 2 portions that arrived) this resulted I me literally leaving all but 2/3 Nachos in the bowl. Waitress collected never mentioned anything regarding pretty much a full portion being left. Went to the bar to pay bill was asked if everything was OK. Explained re Nachos. Again lovely staff member apologised went to the kitchen to see if anything could be done regarding the bill but returned explaining the chef said no as they were replaced ( when in actual fact the first bowl wasn't replaced and when called out for it replaced with an unsatisfactory meal) so so so disappointed as we used to visit this restaurant pre-covid 1 sometimes 2 times per week and we had continued to return hoping things would have gotten better but will...

Review is regarding staff rather than the food, which looked nice enough. We had about 16 adults and 7 kids sitting in the beer garden area celebrating the day after our wedding. I called ahead to see if we could order food sitting outside without a booking and was told yes.

Not everyone wanted food, but the kids certainly did, along with a couple of fish and chips/pizza orders, nothing major. The first order was made for all the kids, except for mine. I went to order a few minutes later for my 6 and 2 year old only and was told no. They had to prioritise their restaurant guests over beer garden guests. The restaurant was only half full. I explained it was just two kids meals I was after as all the other kids has been ordered for. Was still told no and to “try again in half an hour”. After trying to order again for over an hour and a half we left.

Several times we went to ask even if the two kids could just have chips, a small pizza or whatever and the answer was always no. Upon leaving I went back in to complain and the attitude from the women was absolutely disgusting. I think she was embarrassed that her restaurant guests heard they wouldn’t serve some chips to a 6 year old.

Spent a good bit on money, £200 plus i’s guess, lots of us very local. You expect the place to be very kid friendly with the park etc but obviously not. The blonde womens words were “i’m not here to serve your kid”.

Shame, could be a great place for families as there isn’t many places with park facilities around but certainly wouldn’t recommend whilst these staff/owners are...

Xmas lunch with work colleagues. Very disappointed there were no crackers on the table and we weren't given a festive menu. The 'special' however was turkey and trimmings which was plentiful, maybe too much on the plate. Roast potatoes were very nice, turkey was tasty, brussel sprouts tasted like frozen ones and there was a massive pile of mash on the plate which I found unnecessary. Soup for starter was very nice however it was way too hot to eat. The service was slow even though it wasn't busy and staff weren't very attentive. We weren't told about the turkey being available, we had to ask. We weren't told about several dishes not being available until we asked for them....
