The Steadings Kirkcaldy — Restaurant in Great Britain

Paul and Janet want to thank Lauren and all her staff at the Steadings, Kirkcaldy for an excellent and impromptu Wedding Meal. After making the decision to get married within 4 weeks we had a number of challenges and finding a Meal venue for the Wedding Reception was one of the highest. A tour of a number of the local “Wedding Hire” venues proved frustrating, either by increased “wedding” cost, or by their nature to include expensive and pretty looking, but not filling food (more plate than food 😊 . We had heard great things from friends about the recently re-opened Steadings and Lauren was very happy to work round our simple requirements: Good wholesome food for both Adults and Children, in a private function room at a reasonable cost. After parking in the ample car park, the Wedding Party was warmly greeted on arrival and taken to the function room, set out in a top table fashion. Our guests sat and immediately, Lauren’s staff were attentive in dealing with drink and our food orders. I did not hear one complaint from any of our guests. All the meals were excellent, and a super callout to the Steakpie, which was enormous and Chicken, which was super tasty. Popped along to the Steadings on the off chance that we could get a table,despite being very busy a very nice young waitress welcomed us and gave us a very nice table . The waitress told us that because they were extremely busy our order might take slightly longer than usual ,however the order came really quickly ….. my husband had the macaroni cheese and I had the chicken fajita pasta ( both came with delicious garlic bread ) ,we both had cheesecake ( different flavours ). Cannot fault the food …..everything was delicious and the mains were served on hot plates which you seldom get . The staff were very friendly ,extremely efficient and so helpful and the price was very reasonable . The tables are spaced such that you can’t hear anyone else’s conversation which is a bonus . Been going here since the reopening never had a complaint however ordered fish and chips the fish had grease running out it the fish was uncooked and jelly like I then got another serving and a dessert on the house later that night started feeling terrible work up the next day and couldn't even get out my bed due to tonsillitis after calling the doctor he confirm there was a high chance of dirty cutlery plates etc that can cause this I'm all for helping a local business but my health comes first won't be back sorry. Was giving benefit of the doubt by saying wasn't cooked right as it either wasn't cooked right or it was off the fish had a fishy smell to it and was like jelly when bitten into it I didn't want to put your business down that much by saying rotten food but you confirmed it was cooked so...
