Went there for food and drinks, only to discover that the facilities have changed drasticaly. Used to be a fantastic place for bikers and hikers to stop for food, drinks and facilities. Unfortunately you can now only get drinks and cake ( which did not look appealing), unless you are an overnight guest, who are the only ones who can eat from the menu by the entrance. The outside seating has also been moved around to the side, (only access is through the inside seating area), where you are sitting under very low trees if you can not get a seat on the limited tables on the artifical grassed decking area. Thus making way for more parking for over night guests. There is a car parking eye. So be sure to put in your reg in if you stop for a drink. Personally I won't be stopping there again and will be passing on my recomendation to the many bikers that pass there on a daily basis.

In reply to the owners response, my intention is not to ruin a small family business but to enlighten others of the changes made. If anyone is going out of their way for food. Then not to bother as you now, do not serve food to the general public and passing trade, only drinks and cake. Which is a shame as we used to detour to yours for food whenever we were in the area because the food was fantastic. Unfortunately we now won't be because you no longer offer...

Called in for some honey (as advertised) and to use the loo as we both have medical cards for urgent use of a loo. In the window, before entering was a very stern and frankly, rude, sign regarding toilet use. The poster was such that it totally put us off going in and we just got back in the car and carried on our journey to find a toilet. Not a welcoming place at all. Edit added in reply to reply from owner: I'm not sure what you mean regarding a poster that said you wouldn't put up with any abuse, we didn't see that - my post is purely in regard to the poster about the toilet situation. As said previously, we wanted to buy some honey - advertised on the forecourt, and hopefully use the facilities at the same time. We stood at the door for a few minutes, hoping to catch the attention of whoever was on the til but they were busy talking to two men who were in there so we didn't get the chance. Also, we're a couple in our late fifties, pretty sure we don't look like the type of people who were going to come in and vandalise your toilets - we didn't want a free loo visit, we were planning on patronising your shop too. How do you know what time we called, by the way? I didn't mention that... Aaaanyway. I've made my point - wish I'd taken a photo of that poster so people could judge...

We had drove past this cafe a few times going to and from Beddgelert. On our first visit we wanted to go out for breakfast and made our way down Porthmadog high street but as we have 2 large dogs nowhere was accommodating. I suggested ‘we tried the cafe on the way to Beddgelert’ which we did. We both had the breakfasts with coffee, the coffee was good , the breakfast was really good especially the sausages. We commented to the owner about the sausages and it’s something they pride themselves on. The quality of the food was superb and most of it is locally sourced which is fantastic that they support the local farmers. The inside dining area is spacious and has interesting pictures on the walls, it was good to see a local community board up and people displaying business cards and also people using it to warn of dangers on the nearby rock face. It has a real community feel to the place and is owned by two really nice genuine people. Within a 10 minute drive from Porthmadog it really is worth the effort to find this place and I’m sure you won’t be...

Avoid. Not a single word of Welsh anywhere in the establishment – disappointing for somewhere in Gwynedd. We were even sold out-of-date cakes (see photo, taken 14/08/2025. One was 3 months gone). While the food itself was tasty, the customer service from the blonde lady was poor. I asked for pepperoni in my ciabatta but was told they “come as they are,” which suggests they aren’t made fresh. The sheer number of rules displayed on the walls was astonishing. I understand some guidelines are needed to manage visitor numbers, but the place had an overly strict, almost authoritarian feel. Deals are only honoured if every member of your party orders them. Parking time is tightly controlled, with minutes allocated depending on whether you dine in or take away. Even the toilet use is subject to strict rules – a full A4 page of them. I won’t be returning and certainly won’t recommend it to others.

A COSY CAFE WITH MOUNTAIN VIEWS AND THE BEST HOSPITALITY ✨️ We stopped by at this lovely place to recharge and get some breakfast. We didn't expect to see SUCH a welcoming place that welcomes big dogs ( our Rottweiler received a lot of love ❤️). The food, the coffees, the teas, and desserts were lovely. The staff is incredibly attentive, funny, and warm. The service was super efficient!Highly recommend stopping by. There's an electric car charging station right next to the cafe. It is an ideal place to unwind and explore the surrounding countryside. We would love to come again!!

The old climbing cafe is in new hands. It has a huge car park , free for customers. Biker friendly, dog friendly. There is an outside seating area with lovely looking rattan chairs. The menu is very limited to a selection of pies or panini for food. The pies are excellent but the panini were a disappointment with flavourless cheese. There are no plates supplied and cutlery will cost you 30p as well as any sauces. This makes eating your £5 hot pie awkward. So overall it is a no for me.
