Astalet Cafe Woking — Restaurant in Guildford

We used to be regulars at Astalet, but our recent visit reminded us of why we stopped going in the first place. The food is underwhelming, and the atmosphere is as charming as a trip to a pound shop. While the menu offers a wide variety of options, most of them were completely tasteless. The only decent thing we used to enjoy was the bubble and squeak, but let's be honest, one decent dish does not make a cafe . And let's not forget the coffee. It's cheap, too strong, and poorly made. The latte was undrinkable due to the milk being boiled to oblivion, even the tea was a letdown, with the teabag being served in the mug brewing for too long.

In conclusion, we wouldn't recommend Astalet. We all have cravings for unhealthy food every now and then, but if we're going to indulge, we believe that it should be for something enjoyable, cooked with love, and acceptable quality. Treat yourself to something better, because life is too short for bland food...

Adequate meal for a reasonable price but everyone who works here seems miserable, coffee was mediocre, fried potato things were very good, everything was cooked well, served hot nice tasting sausages which were NOT budget end of budget sausages, they had FLAVOUR in them, and herbs, YES HERBS, HOORAYYYY!!! and they actually put the egg where it is supposed to be, i.e on the toast!!!! Not toast on separate plate!!! Thanks for that, just be happy and greet your guests, it DOES make a difference!!! This should have been 5 stars, i would have said lovely meal but the whole thing was marred by the miserable "greeting" if i can call it a greeting. . . . You are basically saying give me your money, and i suppose i'll have to give you food. . . Doesnt sound nice...

First and Last time sadly, the guy behind the till hasn't ever smiled in his life I think! Not good customer service manner at all ! But happy to take our money... food wasn't that great at all, I didn't even eat more than probably a few spoonfuls, I have had better at other places. Common sense to leave sugar packets with hot drinks but no, I had to ask for my client who I took there. Staff going round asking the regular customers how their food was etc but no one came to our table at all, which I find extremely rude !! Wasted my money.. won't come here again, rather go somewhere where I am acknowledged and spoken to properly, of course with...
