I popped into this fairly quaint little pub today just for something to do whilst waiting to pick up somebody! Armed with a book to read i entered , seemingly going back in time. I asked for coffee and was given freshly brewed coffee in my very own cafetiere ... at am extremely reasonable price! I was told by the very nice bar man to take a seat and he would bring it over. Sat at the table reading my book the little bar filled with obviously local people. It was actually lovely to sit there occupied but with the sounds of friendly chat going on in the background! I can imagine that it's got a really friendly local vibe to it at weekends and busier times. It was a very pleasant hour. On the way out I used the facilities and I wasn't expecting much in a little pub like this! However I was very pleasantly surprised. Whilst fairly small they were beautifully clean and it was lovely to see a little box of lady accoutrements in case they were needed. Not an ugly pay box! Another surprise in a little pub like this (and I'm not in any way trying to be condescending!) Was the matching hand lotion to hand wash. I always think that it a lovely touch. I have passed this pub a few times and always said i must pop in.. well I'm very pleased that I finally have. It was a lovely little pub with good staff and a very nice welcoming ambiance. I hope I get to go back .. they also have quite a nice...
Read moreBeautiful weather, popped in for lunch just as they opened and sat out in the garden. Great selection of Ales and partner had a nice cold Cider. We went for two different open sandwiches. I had Roast Beef Serloin and Horseradish, my partner had Bacon and Brie. Both sandwiches were delicious and served with fries and salad, really tasty and really filling, very generous portions. I really enjoyed the beef left over from the weekends roast and served cold, exactly what we would do at home. Great service, lovely people and even got to have a stroke of Tyson the pooch as he grazed in the Sun. We really enjoyed our lunch and will certainly be...

Nigel was very welcoming and came to talk to us while we sat outside. Food was provided by the pop-up Thai in the car park: no problem with this except I could have done with a proper knife for my beef curry because the pieces of meat were so big! Being served in takeaway containers made it easier to take home that which we couldn't manage to eat. I wish it was my local. Could only have been better if there had been a roaring log fire, but then it...
