The pub is in a beautiful rural setting with a friendly and comfortable atmosphere inside. However, my wife and I were dis-appointed with the food and service, as it was far from a “Fine Dining Experience” as stated on the website.

We were the first in the restaurant, early on Saturday evening, the waitress was not aware of the selection of alcohol-free beers (only 2), and had to retake my order as the Peroni I ordered was not stocked. She was also not sure what the pie of the day was. We both ordered the “Gourmet sea food pie - £19” for our mains, but again the waitress had to come back and apologize as the chief only had one portion left! I ordered the “Cod, paprika and nori mosaic - £22” instead. When the mains arrived, both were tepid in temperature and small in portion size, served in oversized plates. My cod was very small and lacked seasoning. My wife’s “Gourmet sea food pie”, was not a pie, but some sea food in a lobster favoured source, with piped mashed potato on top. Both dishes were overpriced for size and quality of the food. We did not stay...

This is a hidden GEM in the beautiful Surrey Hills of England. The owners Janet and Sandra are fabulous. Hard working, friendly, welcoming and have such a great staff. We took the 3 bedrooms upstairs and WOW- they were way beyond what we expected . Janet and Sandra have really thought of the best ideas to make the accommodation as comfortable as it was. The rooms are very spacious and clean. Love the sensor lights in the bathroom. ||The food was amazing- breakfast supreme, coffee choices were beyond the norm. We ate well, slept well and had a fabulous 2 night stay. |Dinner menu excellent- highly recommend the lamb pie, steak pie and lamb shank. Of course we had to sample two puddings- cheesecake and chocolate lava brownie. Sinfully delicious. |The pub also has a beautiful outdoor garden with plenty of seating . |OVERALL a very HAPPY family reunion. |Would absolutely return here. |PS:- my parents were married in the church down the lane 73 years ago- so wonderful nostalgic visit. ||There are lovely walking trails in the area for all...

The food, service, and location are excellent and normally I would have given this a 5 star review. Unfortunately, however, the portions size for the lamb dish for £23.50was completely inadequate and would have left me hungry. To their credit, when I immediately complained, the server brought the manager and they explained it was a very good/expensive cut and they then offered and did bring me 6 more pieces of lamb (double the original portion). It is a very nice restaurant and I hope they will improve in the future. Most people (including my wife who ordered the same dish) are not comfortable complaining about portion sizes, even when clearly adequate. Instead they will go away hungry, complain to their friends, and never come back and that would be a shame for an otherwise good place.

The King's Head is the best pub I have ever been to! I love love love it! Vintage style with a lot of character makes you just melt into the atmosphere. Every single item around you has a story and just screams to tell it. You just want to keep taking pictures of everything and everyone (what I was doing shamelessly). This is a country pub, dogs friendly and you can literally come here for the dog therapy! Great food, we enjoy every bite of it! The piano takes you away and you wish you never had to leave. Thank you guys for amazing experience!!

Dropped by yesterday having seen the new ad in Vantage Point. A thunder storm meant the power was off in the village, but we were warmly received by the staff, and thankfully the beer hand-pump was still working! The refurbishment is really terrific and comprehensive, and we were both surprised and very impressed indeed. The place is an absolute treat throughout now, and the garden lovely. I suspect it will become a regular haunt, and we hope to be back soon to sample the food. Well done to all!
