Langton Inn Table Table — Restaurant in Harborough

Service was great the staff are very knowledgeable about allergies, went to great lengths to explain how the menu worked, along with the allergen guide, they even changed the cutlery from the cutlery set on the table when we arrived for my daughter who is gluten intolerant, we have never seen that done before, brilliant thanks. Extremely helpful in everything they did even knew that there may be a problem with one of the dishes one of my guests asked for, the waitress said she would check the availability with the kitchen once she had finished taking our order, she was back very quickly to apologize that the dish that was ordered wasn't available because they were still waiting on a delivery with some of the ingredients. Food was delicious and came out in a timely fashion, very nicely presented, piping hot, and was a very reasonable price. Well done to all the staff. We went to Foxton Locks got talking to some other people who were our for a walk a we recommended you to them to try for a meal and they said they would try yourselves on their way home. We travelled 2 hours to stay here, and asked the receptionist at check in about having dinner at the restaurant and she said it was okay to just turn up. So at 6.30 we arrived at the restaurant to be greeted by a not so welcoming woman who basically said the restaurant was fully booked and said we would be lucky to get a table. But there was only 2 tables that had people at them at that point. Then out came the chicken tikka curry's. One dish had literally 4 tiny square pieces of chicken in. So we told the waitress that we would like some more chicken as that isn't a chicken curry just rice and sauce. She came back and said that because they come as a packet meal they couldn't offer another one! Which is strange and very bad. They should have offered a whole new one 🙄 Anyway we refused to pay for that one meal..The older man who took the money said it was a rarity for that to happen, to which my husband said it is also a rarity to visit here. I definitely wouldn't recommend this restaurant to anyone. Save your money and grab a McDonald's opposite as atleast you know what...

Wife & I decided to give the breakfast a try as we've always heard good things. That was far from our experience, booked for 10AM, upon arrival they seated us next to a large and loud table when there was plenty of space elsewhere that was quieter for the two of us. We did ask to be moved straight away but that was just common sense really. Onto the food; There wasn't much selection from the continental breakfast, the toaster barely worked and there were no plates, juices were practically empty and were not the best. After a period of waiting, the waitress came and took our cooked breakfast order, after 5 minutes it arrived which we thought was very fast. Food was luke warm if that and not the greatest. Appeared very short staffed considering and was not once approached during to ask how everything was. We soon ate what we could to atleast benefit from it and left, very disappointed in the offering and definitely won't be returning anytime soon, previous evening meal experiences have been...
