I resently popped in to The fox inn after a day of walking, I found the staff to be friendly and welcoming we asked for a bowl of cheesy chips and they were happy to oblige. we sat in the bar side with our drink and chips and the restaurant side fairly busy, everywhere was clean and smart there is baby changing facilities in the toilets and the toilets were clean and well presented, outside there is an ample carpark and a large seating area with picnic tables on grass also a duck pond and animals to help entertain the children.

I just popped in for as shandy while out on a long bike ride it's a very pleasant pub well known for the Duck pond in front It's a lovely spot to go for a walk as Hallaton is a very beautiful and historic village famous for the 'Bottle Kicking'event held over Easter plus a short walk will take you to Hallaton Castle mound plus there is an excellent museum next to the church I am not sure if the 'Hallaton Hoard' is kept there though?

As fellow publicans my wife & I are extremely particular & we have very high standards. Very occasionally we come across a really wonderful place. Well we visited The Fox in Hallaton & from the minute we walked in the door we were warmly greeted by Sarah. We were made to feel so welcome with a happy face & a professional courteous manner. Also, the bar staff Kane & Katrina who were also on point. Later we met the owners of the business Emma & Colin. It's easy to see how the staff are so professional because the owners exude a warmth & knowledge that is rarely seen in a restaurant pub nowadays. My wife & I know how hard it is to run a busy pub & the hours involved in doing so. It is literally the best pub we've been into for many years. Having travelled to exclusive high class restaurants all over the world, we can say that The Fox at Hallaton is one of the finest places we've been. Not just because of the awesome food & drinks but the tremendous hospitality & attention to detail. Well done to you both & all your staff. You're incredible. 100% satisfied. 👌 p.s the Pies & the Roast are absolutely...

Definitely Best Sunday Lunch Ever!

Great choice of 4 meats or you can pay £2 extra & have a bit of each. I think it was £12.95 for 1 course & £16.95 for 2.

Plate came with large portion of beef, big Yorkshire pud, stuffing ball, parsnips & scrummy roast potatoes & gravy. Then they brought out a bowl of cauliflower cheese (actually see cheese not just watery white sauce), mashed potato, mashed swede, mixed veg (broccoli, cauli, carrots & cabbage) & hubby had asked for a jug of extra gravy.

Not the cheapest Sunday lunch but definitely worth the money. It was all cooked perfectly, all tasted amazing. You'd have to sacrifice some of it if you went for a starter beforehand. I was sorry not to have had room for a pudding, they have a great choice of starters & puds, but I was full to the brim & left the pub happy & content!

Will definitely return. Advisable to book because it is very popular (&...

We met our Son here whilst he was cycling around the Rutland area our first meal out since lock down. We ordered on line arrived as scheduled and sat in the garden. Our food and drinks were delivered to our table by lovely friendly staff our food was excellent and enjoyed by all. We had our little dog with us as did other diners so they welcome dogs too which for me is a huge bonus. On a visit to the ladies toilet I found them spotless and a credit to the establishment. Our whole visit was superb and we will return again. Thanks to all concerned in making our first dining experience post lock...
