we came to the harrow inn today for boxing day dinner , 7 adults 7 children from 13 down to 3 years . We had pre booked our meal 3 ish months ago for 3pm . We arrived at 2.55pm and was told the booking before us showed up an half hour late and we would have to wait for our table! we had no call to inform us they were running late , our children were all hungry as we were expecting to eat shortly after we arrived. We then waited in the bar for half an hour having to spend an extra £30 just on drinks we finally sat down at our table at 3.40pm. food arrived at 4.05pm , all our starters were cold including the soup and nachos , our main turkey Christmas dinner - potatoes were all burnt , pigs in blankets were so burnt they tasted awful, the pork belly was all fat no crackling , cauliflower cheese looked like it was a day old , veg was over cooked, the kids pizza was described as awful and that Tesco pizza tasted better by an 8year old.. the list was endless. we tried to speak to someone about our drinks that were added to our bill and got told their was nothing they could do!! we didn't get our mince pie and coffee with our meal at the end as it was never offered ! in all a meal we were all really looking forward to was absolutely awful that was made worse by staff who clearly were not bothered !! it was quite clear you were understaffed why as paying customers should we...
Read moreCame here for a Christmas meal with about 20 people. We sat down just after 7 o'clock, starter was served promptly at 8.45!!! My pate starter was very good, unfortunately the main courses for everybody seemed to be subject to severe rationing. A single serving of veg for 1 person had to be stretched between 4. One of the people had the Pork Belly, there was just enough to make a sandwich. Some people had the Lamb Shank which they said was completely tasteless. They served Mint Gravy then as an afterthought normal gravy, no Cranberry Sauce until it was asked for. Desert (when it arrived) the Xmas pudding was ok, the Chocolate Fudge cake was very nice but the Lemon and Lime cheesecake was very sour and had a waxy taste. There was no Brandy Butter as they said they had run out! They then had to be reminded about the mince pies with Tea or Coffee. The Mince Pies were ASDA own brand (89p for 6) The two waitresses worked very hard and couldn't be faulted. This meal was booked 6 weeks previously so they weren't taken by surprise. Definitely somewhere to miss. (The 2 stars were given...

Firstly we were seated in the bar area which is a lot noisier (full of workmen having a beer in their lunch break) and colder than the restaurant. I understand that they had a wake that afternoon but if we had been told that when we booked earlier in the day we probably wouldn't have bothered. We had a 45 minute wait for food which seemed excessive. I ordered steak and ale pie as I've enjoyed that many times in the past. It was very watery and lacking in filling. The veg and mash had been microwaved. Considering the length of time we waited we would have expected fresh veg. Very...
