10 minutes, that is how long it took from ordering to collecting my order in an empty restaurant with just a few delivery guys and the drive through getting ALL the attention. Noticed that elsewhere, you walk in and get ignored once they have your order, whereas if you don't bother to get out of your car then it really is fast food. And the burger was bland: one of those double big macs with loads (literally loads) of lettuce so that the sandwich was sitting on a lettuce bed (imagine the disappointment a lettuce must feel at finding out it is to be the unwanted part in a burger), the vaguely mustard stuff hardly noticeable. There was a slice of cheese, but no onion or pickles (if these are part of the recipe) to be seen (or tasted). My partner said her chicken big mac was also disappointing. The mozzarella sticks, on the other hand, were good - but make sure you eat them while they are still hot.
Update 8/2/23
Three out of the four self serve screens are out of order, the last one is apparently running slowly. We queue up behind another customer for several minutes at the hatch waiting for a server, who is quite informative about the self serve machines - "we reset them earlier but they still don't work, so we're ignoring them." Fantastic. No one watching the hatch, machines out of order, way to go... In America this lot would have been sacked.
Update 18/3/23
The joy of McD's on a Saturday night... Woman came (presumably from a car) as I was ordering and complained that her order had taken nearly half an hour and when it finally arrived it was cold. As I waited she demanded to see the manager, but her order miraculously turned up and, as she left, a man appeared behind the counter and pulled a face when told she had gone. The lady who had been serving at the counter puffed out her cheeks, pushed out her belly and made an imitation of the customer including sarcastically saying "I want to see the manager" and "it took too long". This took place in front of myself and another customer. Shortly another woman turned up at the counter and was grumbling to her two children that the counter was unmanned (which is certainly not unusual), before complaining to the staff member who eventually turned up that she had been waiting in her car for 25 minutes without being warned about the wait, others had turned up and been served before her, the usual moans. But a woman I took to be the manager (certainly not dressed for a shift in the kitchen) arrived and apologised profusely, without face pulling or rude imitations, making excuses for the restaurant being very understaffed, and the customer's order was quickly found and she went away with the situation defused. As it was, my own order took 16 minutes, much longer than the definition of fast food should allow, but the opportunity to 'discuss' this with the staff member was lost when he thrust my order into my hands and quickly walked off. And my order came with no salad (just a couple of pickles and a simple smear of ketchup on the patty) nor did the chilli cheese bites have their accompanying sauce (but I have long believed the restaurants get some sort of bonus for not automatically supplying the advertised sauce). Why are the McDonalds in this area unable to do a quick burger, as advertised, without screwing the damned process up? As I said last time, this lot would get fired if this happened...
Read moreEdit I thought I would give this place another go after they have just had a major refurbishment. You will all be happy to know it is back to business as usual, long waits, cold food, no free wifi, dirty floors and dirty toilets...
However there are a couple of new features to look forward to, no hand sanitizer stations (back to washing hands in the dirty toilets and wasting water), no more table service (order and wait at counter, order ready board not working (hard of hearing here, maybe that's why my food was cold?) and no trays if you're eating in making disposing of the wrappers a bit of a chore.
I have no idea what the refurbishment cost but it was definitely money not well spent.
I did want to speak to the manager but they were unavailable.
Original review.
Worst visit ever to any McDonalds and I have traveled all over the globe!
Cold food served on a dirty tray in grubby surroundings
One look in the toilet was enough to put me off even taking a single step through the restroom door!
Totally unable to connect to their free WiFi and there was so little ink in the receipt I was unable to use the code to give feed back.
Really not a good place to...
Read moreAVOID at all cost! If I could give 0 stars I would. Been here twice while staying with family. Staff are more interested in chatting while one member does all the work. After 10 minutes from ordering food, I had to ask where one member of staff walked away with it? Messy and dirty tables, enough staff just too lazy to come out and clean the restaurant. On second occasion I ordered my food via delivery. 2 adult meals and 2 happy meals. Food arrived after 1 and a half hours cold and no fries with any of the meals. Just an empty bag where the fries meant to have been. The driver was waiting for over 30 min at the restaurant. When I phoned the store and told them the issue they put down the phone and avoided picking up again. Called up after 45 min and spoke to Matt (manager) who said that he wasn't to be blamed for anything and that there was 5 managers on site at that moment. He told me to contact Just Eat. Just Eat is a delivery company, not the the ones who provide the food, you have me cold food and no fries!! None! Do these people have brains? I worked in McDonalds my self 15 years ago and if this is how the store is managed, all managers would have been fired instantly....
