It is genuinely a shocking experience. We booked the Airbnb here. The place was stuck in the 1990s and very unclean with mould & damp in the bedrooms. Don't bother coming here. The food is also unbelievably average, undercooked, and flavourless.

Following an issue with damage to my car in the car park, I tried to contact the owner. Who initially was good and offered to help after reporting the damage to her immediately. Other than that, just radio silence. If you like your car, don't drive and leave it here, as I fear you'll also be in the same position.

Save your money and give another place your custom. This place doesn't deserve it.

EDIT: following the owners slanderous comments: I did not ask for any compensation, simply of a refund due to the damage incurred. The professional who replace the tyre agreed that it could not have happened on the road as this could have caused a blowout. The damage could only have happened at car park speed.

This did not spoil my weekend. Clearly the person writing this review does not know me at all. For them to cite I am full of "Misery and disappointment" and that I am "Vengeful and full of hate and malice" and that am " miserable and vindictive" is quite frankly abhorrent to suggest such things from the limited interaction we have had. You cannot proclaim to know me and this a poor attempt at getting your own way from an opinion of my experience at your establishment. It is a shame you could not have responded in an adult and moreover professional way and attempted to contact me- you did have my details after all.

Reviews are a funny things aren't they? I see no purpose or benefit in this context to mention previous experience I have had other than to try and justify your own actions and to make you feel as though I am in the wrong and am looking for fault. to simply copy over negative ones is very spiteful. This is an honest review in my own experience for your pub and professionalism.

If you would like to have an adult conversation rather an take this slanderous approach "where millions can see" I would welcome the conversation.

I hope we do speak to put this to bed and part on...

WARNING! DO NOT LEAVE HONEST FEEDBACK! FIONA DEEMS IT APPROPRIATE TO LEAVE INSULTING REPLIES TO PAYING CUSTOMERS! FIONA SEEMS TO ISSUE THAT PEOPLE ARE DYING IN THE WORLD AND THAT WARRANTS US PAYING EXTORTIONATE PRICES FOR AWFUL FOOD! FIONA SEEMS TO THINK HER RESPONSES ARE HUMOUR WHICH ARE DEFINITELY NOT. CRUDE REMARKS ABOUT BODILY FUNCTIONS AND DEROGATORY COMMENTS ABOUT THE SIZE OF THE VAN HAVE NO RELATION TO THE SERVICE OFFERED HERE! FOR Β£5 MORE YOU CAN STAY ON A FANTASTIC CAMPSITE WITH NONE OF THIS ATTITUDE. MY ADVICE IS TO SAVE YOUR MONEY AND AVOID THIS PLACE PLACE AT ALL COSTS! AS AN ADDITION, FIONA SAID MILLIONS OF PEOPLE WOULD SEE MY REVIEW BUT HAD NO QUALMS ABOUT PEOPLE SEEING HER DESPICABLE REPLY. Booked to camp overnight and thought, great - somewhere to eat and enjoy a drink at too. Camping - small nice cozy site with toilet facilities. Lovely little honesty shop. Perfect just for an overnight stay. Would have been nice if we were welcomed by the site owners upon arrival. Dining - one of the worst meals we have ever had. We expected due to the price it would be 5*. Steak full of gristle, peppercorn sauce was like lumpy mayonnaise with very little taste (this was replaced but was no better. ) Steak & ale pie, very tasty but pastry outweighed the filling with flavourless gravy. Chips tasted like they were cooked in old oil. Evening at the pub - had to sit outside for the evening as it smelled so bad inside of an oil/greasy smell and didn't want to be smelling of this the next day. It didn't help that the kitchen door was open with no extraction system in place ( any glass was condensed) i also spotted that prepared food was being stored on the floor in there. Didn't like that staff were carrying rubbish out through a customer entrance then collecting items from the honesty shop to use for meals without washing hands. We were back in the van by 8.30 as we got cold and uncomfortable sitting outside.

Some fine tuning needed to perfect the...

Absolutely appalled by the service we received this weekend. Booked for an evening meal for a hen weekend months in advance, as it was the local pub to where we were staying. We phoned up in advance as we had a member of the party who has complex dietary requirements and told not a problem at all! We arrived to find a very rude manager who rolled her eyes and suggested the lady could eat cereal and almond milk! (Not so funny when it’s announced infront of pub full of strangers) Once the party had ordered, our meals arrived quickly but not surprising as the chicken was raw!!! Two of the girls cut into their chicken Kiev which was practically still alive on their plate. We fetched the manager who gave no apology and kept claiming they had probed the chicken. Meals replaced and a bottle of wine for an apology given between 12 ladies - accompanied with β€˜this is so you forget to give us a bad review!’ Once I came to pay the bill the manager was nowhere to be seen, plates cleared by another waitress. It felt like she was now avoiding any potential confrontation and I’m not surprised as we were still charged for our raw meals! Absolutely shocking service and disgusting food. We were very lucky no one got...

An Outstanding Pub, Welcoming Staff, Truly Awesome Food and Great Beer .. I love a cooked breakfast, and the one pictured easily comes in my top 5 of all time. It was made by The Devonshire Arms pub in Peak Forest, apart from the beans and chopped tomatoes, all of the items are locally sourced and tasted like heaven. All the cakes that are on offer at the pub taste like home made and are served in large portions, truly off the scale in quality. It's a relief to know that on rip off Earth there are still places to go and get quality food and service. All the staff are super friendly and helpfull and the service is on point. I have no problem at all recommending The Devonshire Arms Pub.

Stayed a stones throw from the pub for a long weekend, so we visited every day after a long hike for a pint or two and booked dinner for the Sunday evening. Food was brilliant, couldn't fault it, chicken & mushroom pie, and burger & chips. Lots to choose fromon the main menu, and still loads of options on the specials board, considering it was 6/7pm. The pub got really busy, with it being bank holiday and school holidays, but the staff worked so hard, always cheerful & very friendly. Thank you to the chef, too. Great food, great service, great atmosphere. See you next time πŸ‘

Called in to the Devonshire Arms this evening as a friend and I were in the area for a driving weekend. The atmosphere was very friendly and welcoming and we were hungry so opted for the home made beef and ale pie in addition to our beers. The pie with chips peas and gravy was a very ample portion and absolutely delicious. The landlady Fiona was also gracious enough to provide us with a bottle of milk as where we were staying didn't have any.
